Flower names for girls

Hello! I’m new here. Currently expecting our 3rd & final baby. We have two beautiful girls already - Poppy and Bluebell, and have recently found out this baby is a girl too! So we are looking for another flower name to go with Poppy and Bluebell. I’ve always loved Rose, however it I struggle because of the association with Rose West the serial killer (silly I know because the name and the flower are beautiful but I always think of her) Lily is also gorgeous but I already know lots of Lily’s. Any suggestions?
Other option we thought of is going for a jewel name as I’m named after a jewel myself, but ideally would like a flower to go with the other two 😊💜 - Please note, my other 2 girls are already named so I really don’t need to know if you don’t like their names 😹 just looking for ideas on what to call DD3, thanks in advance 🌸🩷 x

@ChocolateCinderToffee Delphine is the French/Francophone version of delphinium which is a flowering plant

Delphinium may be a flowering plant but delphine means dolphin.

Lavender ? Really ?
She'll get called Lav or Lavvy at school !

Cheeseplantt · 22/07/2023 17:40

I would have Rose, but if not Id choose Iris or Fleur

Frazzledatfifty · 22/07/2023 17:40

Violet!

Viviennemary · 22/07/2023 17:40

I quite like the name Rose and wouldn't really associate it with Rose West. Daisy I am not overkeen on but its ok. I do like Iris and Violet.

Lorrymum · 22/07/2023 17:44

My Mum is a Violet, her sister Lily and my grandmother Rosie. All lovely names.

Crummles · 22/07/2023 17:47

@ChocolateCinderToffee Are you thinking of dauphin?

Anyway, hope the OP gets some inspiration for names from this thread

LimePi · 22/07/2023 17:48

Jasmine

@Crummles Delphine is a French name that comes from the name of the Greek city Delphi, which gets its name from the Greek word for dolphin, as do delphiniums (because of their shape). Delphinium (the flower) is dauphinelle in French.

Joobjube · 22/07/2023 17:56

I’ve heard the name Rosanna mentioned before, I think it’s lovely! 🌹

Monster80 · 22/07/2023 17:59

Violet (Vi is such a cool shortened name)
Iris
Daisy
Rose
Lily-Rose
Buttercup

NowItsLikeSnowAtTheBeach · 22/07/2023 18:02

Linnea (beautiful Swedish little pink flower girl's name, pronounced Lyn-ay-uh)

Violeta
Dahlia
Ivy
Fern

Smineusername · 22/07/2023 18:06

Daisy is the answer. Has anyone said Rowena?

Namechangeforanamechange · 22/07/2023 18:08

After all the talk of Delphine not meaning delphinium in French, it has occured to me that Larkspur (its common name) would actually make rather a nice girl's name.

I once knew a Jacaranda, which is a beautiful blue flowered tree.

caringcarer · 22/07/2023 18:09

Heather
Marigold
Peony
Daisy
Violet
Holly
Lilac
Primrose
Zennia
Gardenia

Oh Poppy, Bluebell & Marigold would be delightful 🥰

I think this goes so well together. Such pretty names. You could even go Marigold Rose.

TheDuchessOfMN · 22/07/2023 18:14

I just thought of another one…

Posy

Bluebell, Poppy and Posy 🥰

Crummles · 22/07/2023 18:15

@Namechangeforanamechange yes, I know (most) of that. It's still a nice name though imo and connected to flowers

caringcarer · 22/07/2023 18:15

SweetcornFritter · 22/07/2023 17:10

I would advise against calling a child Lavender, which will inevitably get shortened to Lav or Lavvy, which means you’re basically setting your child up to be called a toilet for the rest of their lives.

😂😂😂 yes don't do this.

Jellifulfruit · 22/07/2023 18:16
