Flower names for girls

Hello! I’m new here. Currently expecting our 3rd & final baby. We have two beautiful girls already - Poppy and Bluebell, and have recently found out this baby is a girl too! So we are looking for another flower name to go with Poppy and Bluebell. I’ve always loved Rose, however it I struggle because of the association with Rose West the serial killer (silly I know because the name and the flower are beautiful but I always think of her) Lily is also gorgeous but I already know lots of Lily’s. Any suggestions?
Other option we thought of is going for a jewel name as I’m named after a jewel myself, but ideally would like a flower to go with the other two 😊💜 - Please note, my other 2 girls are already named so I really don’t need to know if you don’t like their names 😹 just looking for ideas on what to call DD3, thanks in advance 🌸🩷 x

Thank you so much everyone! Lots of beautiful suggestions! 💐
Showed DH the thread replies & his top 3 from
the suggestions are Lavender, Peony and Willow.
I love so many of them though! So many lovely suggestions that I haven’t even thought of.
Also a couple of you mentioned my own name (Amber) which made me smile 😊
Thank you so much again everyone! Will keep you posted if we manage we make a decision 🩷🌸 x

Don't go for Peony. You know what it will become when the other kids want to tease her.

Snapdragon.

Amaryllis

Rose is a lovely name for a girl. Makes me think of ‘The Rose’ song by Bette Midler rather than Rose West.

Violet Rose is a pretty name.

A303 · 22/07/2023 18:43

Venus Fly Trap

Beepbeepenergy · 22/07/2023 18:45

DAISY

Marmitecrumpetswithalittlecheese · 22/07/2023 18:47

I know a little girl called Posy, so sweet!

And love Jasmine 💓

LivinDaylights · 22/07/2023 18:55

Poppy, Bluebell and Daisy go nice together. I probably prefer Lily personally.

EpicChaos · 22/07/2023 18:55

@Maireas Yes i know, i read it in her OP but i listed the names i like and added it anyway because i like it.

Posy is sweet, but when she's an adult?

SoftSheen · 22/07/2023 19:15

I like Violet or Viola.

Or, if you want something a bit more unusual, Marigold.

bobotothegogo · 22/07/2023 19:34

Hyacinth? 🤭

Marmitecrumpetswithalittlecheese · 22/07/2023 19:40

Snapdragon 🤣

Posy will still be sweet when she's an adult. Just like all the similar cutesy names like Bella etc.

TheCave · 22/07/2023 19:48

My grandmother was Daisy (born 1920s) and her sisters were Ivy, Lily, Rose and Marigold in case that's any inspiration!

TheCave · 22/07/2023 19:50

Oh not sure if anyone else suggested but Rosa is lovely as an alternative to Rose.

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 22/07/2023 19:50

English old fashioned flower name vibes

marigold
myrtle
heather
violet
veronica
holly
Ivy

more exotic / unusual
Jasmine
Fushcia
Alyssum (I quite like this flower and that you could shorten to Alyss)

I would advise against calling a child Lavender, which will inevitably get shortened to Lav or Lavvy, which means you’re basically setting your child up to be called a toilet for the rest of their lives.

Had to name change to post this comment as majorly outing but....

My surname was Lavender for 32 years. Never once in all my life had a lavatory or lavvy joke directed at me.

I know we're talking about first names here but I doubt it would ever be an issue.

"I bet you smell nice" is about as bad as it got so you have no need to worry OP

Meadow? 😍 my DD’s middle name

Zinnia is pretty rad too

I second this! DDs middle name is also Meadow!

Yes, but nobody is calling you "Lavender" in day to day conversation - a first name is very different.

TiredParentAlways · 22/07/2023 20:13

Answer is in your post 🌸- Sakura. It means cherry blossom 😊 Would be super unique.
