Hi all. Partner and I are stuck on these 3 names for our baby girl, which is your favourite? Surname is 3 syllabus.

Team Thea!

Charlotte

whirlyhead · 17/07/2023 17:31

I know about 10 Charlottes (and live next door to two). One of the worlds most boring names. I also worked with a total bitch from hell called Charlotte which put me off the name for life.

Thea is a lovely name.

pambeeslyhalpert2 · 17/07/2023 21:03

Joint first Thea and Imogen

Charlotte

Brody77 · 17/07/2023 23:10

I have a Thea so obviously biased! She’s the only one in her school despite there being a couple of Theos and I’ve only come across 2 in my life which was partially why we chose it as being more unusual. She loves her name, it’s strong like her, though her friends call her Thee-Thee when they’re all using nicknames!

Imogen

catin8oots · 17/07/2023 23:24

Thea is getting sooo popular round here (SE)

DramaAlpaca · 17/07/2023 23:50

I like Charlotte and Imogen.

I dislike Thea, I find it lispy and insubstantial.

elenacampana · 17/07/2023 23:54

Imogen 💖💛

Charlotte

LaylaLjungberg · 18/07/2023 00:14

I love Thea.

WildEarth · 18/07/2023 00:15

Definitely Thea.

BinkieBeaufort · 18/07/2023 08:45

So many Charlottes around, Imogen sounds like an ointment, so it's Thea for me.

loverains · 18/07/2023 08:58

While Thea isn't too popular at the moment Theo and Theodores are absolutely everywhere and this would put me off using it.

PickledScrump · 18/07/2023 08:58

Charlotte is a bit overused. Thea is a bit bland to me, close to Theo so seems more popular than it is. I know of a few little ones. Imogen is lovely, I’ve only ever known of one and she’s in her 30s, may get shortened to Immy but nothing wrong with that.

PickledScrump · 18/07/2023 08:59

Also a lot of kids (and adults) can’t say ‘TH’ so she may get called Fear a lot.

Amby1 · 29/07/2023 18:31

Imogen, definitely!

17caterpillars1mouse · 29/07/2023 18:42

Imogen is lovely and immi will be a very cool nickname when she's in her teens. I also love its meaning...and I wouldn't say it's common at all, in 2021 it was given to only 1 in nearly 11,000 girls! Thea is nice too, but will it be pronounced Theea or Theya, or is she always going to have to put up with it being a mix of the two?

Sorry to be that person, but I've no idea where you've got that statistic from. Imogen was given to 998 out of around 304,000 girls born in 2021. That works out to a much higher percentage than 1/11,000.

miniaturepixieonacid · 31/07/2023 17:56

I love them all but especially Charlotte. I know it's popular but it's beautiful. And almost every Charlotte I've met has been such a lovely person. I don't like Lottie or Charlie which seem to become a bit inevitable though. Imogens always seem to become Immy or even Ims to. I don't know why everyone insists on shortening such lovely names! At least that wouldn't happen with Thea.

Mummytobe333 · 10/08/2023 21:55

Thea 💓 I have a Thea. Imogen was on my list too however glad I didn’t go with it as I went off it since then.
Never liked the name Charlotte sorry

0021andabit · 10/08/2023 21:56

All gorgeous names but I absolutely love Thea.

gemmawaithagee81 · 10/08/2023 23:29

I have an Imogen, always get lots of compliments on it. We do shorten it for a non though, Immy and Mim mostly x
