Dh has brought Nicholas to the table as an option. At first I thought no, as although I like the full name I'm not a fan of Nicky or Nick. However quite like Nilo or Nico

Any thoughts?

I really like Nicholas but have the same issue with Nicky and Nick so it got taken off our list. Similar vibe contenders were Christopher and Benjamin.

I do like Nico, but with Nicholas I think you’ll have a hard time avoiding Nick with his friends.

I'd say Nico is a separate name, so call them that.

Cool name. I like it and all its usual nicknames. Not Nico though, that is a different name and too try hard as a derivative of Nicholas

Cool name, forever associated with my 20s cool-but-bad bf, who was a Nik. Somehow cooler than Nick. Nic is a feminine sielkibg in my mind.

I like it but I prefer the full name Nicolas, smarter, sleeker. Then it naturally shortens to Nico rather than Nick

i have no idea why I like it so much, but all the boys and men I have met with this name have been really nice !

Will be Nick. If you want Nico just announce it as Nico but leave Nicholas on the BC so he can have the option of he wants.

Nicholas is great, as is Nico.

The only little Nicholas (5 years old) I know goes by his full name and is otherwise called "Knick-Knack" by his family. It's adorable.
