Evander, Aldric, Rupert or Arnold ?

We have 3 sons already and so likely to have a 4th! We have a girls name (Clara) at the ready but would like a boys name to tie in with our other 3 boys.

We do like;
Evander, Aldric, Rupert and Arnold.

What's everyone's preference out of those, or anyone got any other suggestions?

Oh goodness, not Arnold, are you serious? It is definitely not time for an Arnold revival. It is still a bit of a joke name in the UK.

Evander, never heard of it before so unsure.

I really like all your choices. A personally think Arnold is due a come back and think it sounds great! Aldric is my least favourite.

Out of those names I really like Aldric. Don't think I've heard it before but I love it!

Magnus by a country mile. Arnold is my second favourite. I don't like the rest, but you will never get everyone to like a name.

Really surprised people see Rupert as wet - all the Ruperts I know are great big rugby players.

I love this list being so different. I do like Aldric but I also wonder about being given such a name and whether it would just be too hard to carry off. What would it be for short as Aldric might be quite a thing to have to use in full all the time if you were a more shy and retiring type? Al? Aldie? That would fit in with all the ALbies. Also there is Alderic which I think sounds even better!

There also seems to be Aidric too, which is nice and slightly less reminiscent of "Baldric" as some mentioned upthread. With different potential shortenings like Ade or Adey or Ades. There's also Edric which is closer to Ed and Eric, so might not sound quite so exotic to people as Ed names are quite in right now as well.

Rupert, Evander or Aldric in that order. Not Arnie due to the actor.

I like Alaric and Rupert. Someone upthread suggested Derek, I’m not keen on that, but like Dirk as an alternative.

I meant Aldric, but actually Alaric, first king of the Visigoths, could be cool.

Evander is a boxer’s name (Hollyfield ) which could lead to problems with him being challenged to fight.
