Sister for Alfred

We are having twins, a boy and girl.
We have decided on Alfred for the boy, to be known day to day as Fred. It’s a family name with sentimental value.

We are struggling to agree on a girls name. Between us we like:
Polly
Heidi
Florence
Flora
Elodie
Evie
Ivy

Which name do people like best or do they have any other suggestions?

I like both names and maybe marginally prefer Flora, but I wouldn't give twins (or siblings) names starting with the same letter.
I think Fred and Polly go better together

I think some people don’t like twins having the same letter as it’s two matchy.

Polly - Not my taste, and doesn't seem right with Alfred
Heidi - Love Heidi! It's really pretty
Florence - This is gorgeous as well as long as you don't mind the Fred and Florence thing - I think it's fine as his full name is Alfred
Flora - Lovely
Elodie - This is a gorgeous name
Evie - Nice enough
Ivy - Beautiful, goes really well with Alfred

I love your list of names! I think my personal favourite on its own would be Heidi but the name that goes best with Alfred is either Florence or Ivy. They all go really nicely though, you can't go very wrong.

@ourflagmeansdeath thank you for your lovely positive response! DH and I are struggling to agree but this gives me confidence we can’t go too far wrong whichever we pick :)

I think it has to be Edith, or possibly Alice - or Emma - nice Anglo Saxon pairings

Flora is lovely though, and I like Ivy

Lois
Beatrice nn Bea
Eleanor nn Nell
Frances
Esther
Constance nn Connie
Elsbeth
Katharine
Imogen
Violet
Celeste
Eloise
Emmeline
Emerald

might be others

Polly - bit twee for an adult, I like it as a nn for Mary names
Heidi - very twee. Also a bit German barmaid
Florence - ok, bit twee
Flora - lovely - goddess of spring
Elodie - it’s a bit fussy and faddy, Eleanor or Eloise are better I think
Evie - done to death and then some
Ivy - like it

My father (and son) are Alfred- one of his sisters was Cecily.

Thanks for all the great suggestions.
Think we have narrowed it down to Polly, Heidi and Flora :)

We have similar taste in names! I love Alfred/Fred
Of your girl names my favourite are Polly, Flora and Elodie. I also love Florence but I think I would get tired of people making the Tesco connection!
I also like Ottilie, Ada, Bonnie, Penelope/Nell
