3rd baby boy name

I'm due my 3rd baby boy in a few months and struggling for a name. My other boys are Jason and Robert. So I'm looking to MN for recommendations and suggestions. I've had 2 stillborns, a girl called Jessica and a boy called Christopher. I'd like to keep the name traditional but I'm also really into meanings. Jason means 'to heal' who came after losing Jessica. Robert means 'bright fame/glory' who came after Christopher. A name that begins with a different letter to J and R and ends different to N and T. I'm very much into individuality and separate identity between siblings. Is there such a name out there? Really stuck here...

Sorry, ignore the ‘J’ names. I got carried away and forgot 🤦🏻

I love Caleb.
Anyone mentioned Daniel ?

Caleb and Daniel are definitely contenders! Thanks.

I'm keeping with the Take That theme, what about Gary, Mark or Howard?

Hahaha. Errr no. They're good traditional names but I'm certainly not naming my children after a boyband. I'm sure people do but it's just coincidence for us. This has been a trigger for PTSD for me after losing Christopher so not these suggestions but thank you.

Sorry for your losses.

I would suggest Oliver, meaning olive branch/peace

David. Beloved

David. Beloved

My partner already has a son called David otherwise it would be a contender.

I’m sorry for your losses OP. I lost my daughter at one day old. When I had my son, he felt like a gift from her. If we hadn’t lost her we would not have had a second so soon or possibly at all. Names that mean gift are Theodore, Matthias, Matthew, Nathaniel, Jonathan, Isidore, Jesse.

Jason, Robert and Matthew sound lovely.

Truestorypeeps · 17/05/2023 09:13

Isn't Maxwell House coffee? That's what I thought of with that name anyway.

I prefer the classics and like Michael for that reason. Did you look at the top 100 name list for boys in the UK for 2022 and see what you and your husband agree on?

Thank you. I'm sorry for your loss too. That's how I feel; if Jessica had lived, Jason wouldn't be here but Christopher would be here. We probably would have stopped at 2 so Robert wouldn't be here. I feel like this baby is an extra special gift. Theodore is beautiful and I've been seriously considering it. The only thing is is that my partner is called Bill and don't want to start Bill and Ted references. Matthew is Jason's best friend's name and although I love Jesse, I cannot use that as my daughter was called Jessica. Not considered Nathaniel though. Thank you.

Haha I thought of coffee too tbh. That's a great idea, I'll look at up, thank you.

I think that if you love the name Theodore then you should go for it. One of my sons has a name where there are several different potential nicknames, if you choose one when he’s a baby it’ll probably stick (e.g. Theo, Teddy, Dory, T-whatever the initial of his surname is).
If he chooses Ted for himself when he’s older then it’s much less likely people will make the ‘Bill and Ted’ connection.

Alec. It’s a variant of Alexander meaning ‘Defender of Mankind’.

It's a great name. In fact, my own name is the female version so perhaps not 😅

How about Michael?
Jason, Robert and Michael. Michael means 'gift from God', 'who is like God'. I feel this is a nice way to honour my daughter that we lost, Jessica, as her name has a similar meaning 'God's gracious gift'.

I love Michael. It goes well with the others and lovely that it honours your daughter too ❤️

Jemimapinotduck · 02/08/2023 14:50

I love the name Michael, if I'd had a second boy, I would have loved to use it. I also think it fits the best with your other son's names.
