i believe this name has been raised before, but it bears repeating - have you ever been to harlow? I’m local and it’s a total dump. Do you really want to wish that association on another human being for life?

SOWK · 13/05/2023 23:08

Was about to say the same - have you ever been to Harlow ?

Soproudoflionesses · 13/05/2023 23:09

Please don't call a little baby Harlow it is an awful place

Midnightpony · 13/05/2023 23:09

There was a famous put down from Marilyn Monroe?
"Jean Harlow - the T at the end is silent" .

I always think of that

Biscuitea · 13/05/2023 23:10

Just why? Poor kid.

SiobhanSharpe · 13/05/2023 23:11

Yep. Former Essex girl here -- Harlow is to be avoided both as a town and a name.

UndercoverCop · 13/05/2023 23:12

I have also been to Harlow, used to work there covering a colleague and finished late, I was escorted to my car in the car park

UndercoverCop · 13/05/2023 23:13

Beautiful

Harlow?
WheelsUp · 13/05/2023 23:13

Harlow is considered more female than male these days. Have you been there? It's not a great place.

Fiddlerdragon · 13/05/2023 23:14

I don’t understand the question. Are you asking for middle name suggestions? I always get confused when people do that. A person needs a first name, and their last (family) name. To me a middle name is for when someone wants to honour a specific member of the family, or if they absolutely adore another name they just have to add in. Middle names are a pain in the arse. If you have to ask strangers on an internet forum for ideas, then just don’t use one

Hohofortherobbers · 13/05/2023 23:16

Have you considered Slough?

RuthW · 13/05/2023 23:16

Have you considered Slough?

Or even Jaywick in keeping with the Essex vibe

LilyTuesday · 14/05/2023 10:31

Basil. Short for Basildon and goes splendidly with Harlow 🥰

Camillasfagwrinkles · 14/05/2023 11:40

I used to live in Harlow. Not much to recommend it.

Lovemebetter · 14/05/2023 11:43

I went there once so no.

Grapefruittea · 14/05/2023 11:43

I was born in Harlow, so I will also associate the name with this town in Essex!

Grapefruittea · 14/05/2023 11:44

@UndercoverCop haha, I didn't want to say my thoughts on the town but I think this picture sums it up haha!

Grapefruittea · 14/05/2023 11:44

@RuthW 😂😂 I can't tell whether you're being ironic!

KirstenBlest · 14/05/2023 12:00

Call him Stevenage, at least he could shorten it to Steve, or if you want to stay in Essex, Billericay.

ourflagmeansdeath · 14/05/2023 12:12

I quite like it as a name if it didn't have the town connotation which obviously everyone will think of

FitAt50 · 14/05/2023 12:29

Common, just so common.

I always think of that

For that to work, the t has to be pronounced.
