My last thread left me more confused than ever because everyone had completely different opinions about the names I listed, so I thought I’d try again with some others that I like. Maybe reserve the previous list for potential middle name spot!

Saskia
Jemima
Imogen
Harriet
Claudia

Claudia

Saskia.

But they’re all good names - sod what’s popular on Mumsnet and go with what YOU like!

Sofiatheworst · 13/05/2023 10:20

Jemima, Imogen and Harriet are my favourites

LizzieBet14 · 13/05/2023 10:22

Claudia or Imogen

yellowmeerkat · 13/05/2023 11:00

These are all lovely! Honestly I think you should go with your gut though, you will never get universal approval for a single name on here and it can make things seem even more confusing for you. If there is a name that you love (from either list) I would go with that. Good luck!

AdaColeman · 13/05/2023 11:03

Saskia or Imogen.

Coxspurplepippin · 13/05/2023 11:06

Harriet
Jemima
Claudia

Saskia and Imogen remind me of seventies models hanging off the arms of ageing rock stars Grin, all ironed hair and Afghan coats......

FayCarew · 13/05/2023 11:12

Saskia - nice
Jemima - lovely
Imogen - nice enough but i don't like Immy
Harriet - nice, like Hattie but not Harri
Claudia - ok, but don't get the MN love for it

In order: Jemima, Saskia, Harriet

Theoldwoman · 13/05/2023 13:30

Saskia

ourflagmeansdeath · 13/05/2023 15:05

Saskia - Really dislike this
Jemima - I know it's very duck, but I do think it's pretty
Imogen - It's nice and I love Immy for a nickname
Harriet - I've never liked this
Claudia - Don't like this either

I'd go for Imogen and Jemima if you don't mind comments about ducks!

PickledScrump · 13/05/2023 16:45

I absolutely love saskia, it was on our list for ages but I just felt we weren’t cool enough to use a name like that so had to take it off. Definitely go for that one.

I’m not a fan of any of the others on your list. They seem really dated. I knew a jemima who absolutely hated her name and people quacking at her

Mumofgirls2017 · 13/05/2023 17:38

Jemima

saskia second choice

Elspethelf · 15/05/2023 05:58

I love Harriet, Hattie for short :)

Jemima and Saskia are lovely.

I don’t think you can go wrong with your list, pick the one you love most.

Mummytobe333 · 16/05/2023 10:03

Imogen 💓

TallulahBetty · 16/05/2023 10:04

Saskia - like
Jemima - like
Imogen - like
Harriet - no
Claudia - meh

NewAnon · 16/05/2023 10:08

Oh I love a shortlist.

All the names are perfectly good - here's my opinion:

Saskia - it's not my taste, but a couple of my friends' children are called Saskia, they are very nice people. Not sure I like 'sassy' as a nickname.

Jemima - it's a bit 'soft' for me.

Imogen - this was super-popular a few years ago, but I don't meet many baby-Imogens these days. Immie is a nice nickname.

Harriet - I like Harriet, I would have considered it for DD but I have a good friend with the same name.

Claudia -as much as I love Winkleman (and I do), it isn't a word that sounds very nice to my ear.

CakeRattleandRoll · 18/05/2023 16:59

Love Saskia

SummaLuvin · 18/05/2023 17:23

Saskia - I like this, not enough to use myself, but if a friend had a little Saskia I would think it was such a lovely choice

Jemima - strongly dislike

Imogen - mid-tier name for me, a solid fine

Harriet - mildly dislike

Claudia - my favourite of the bunch, this is on my own list

SarahSmith2023 · 18/05/2023 17:35

Saskia- only if you're super cool, big house, etc

Jemima - bit dated & 🦆
Imogen - like this, like the ones I know.
Harriet - like this, like Harrie, not Hattie
Claudia - like this.

best wishes for her timely & safe arrival 🌸

Luredbyapomegranate · 18/05/2023 22:40

Saskia - great sassy name
Claudia - lovely classic

I’d ditch these:
Jemima - cute but twee - I wouldn’t want to be called it as an adult
Imogen - fine, popular
Harriet - fine, popular

This is ludicrous - it’s a perfectly normal name

@Luredbyapomegranate

ooooohh touched a nerve did I?

If the OP only wanted your opinion she would have said so.

my opinion is just as valid as yours, so jog on.

DrHousecuredme · 20/05/2023 17:21

Saskia: love this name
Jemima: I'm old so Jemima will always be the rag doll from play school so for an actual human, no.
Imogen: love, used to be my favourite but a little bit over used in our area.
Harriet: pretty, safe but not amazing.
Claudia: I just find this name clunky and square somehow.

Saskia and Imogen top choices for me.

Topazbutterfly · 26/05/2023 10:19

They're all lovely names but my favourite is Claudia.
