Opinions please for a baby boy!

(we are not originally from the UK - hence the Angelo proposal)

Do you live in the UK? If so, I think Angelo could be a pretty hard name to live with.

Hazelnuttella · 12/05/2023 13:06

I like Angelo!

There aren’t many young Michaels around - they’re mainly aged 30+ I would say, so maybe not ready for a revival yet.

BasiliskStare · 12/05/2023 13:08

I think either nice but if you choose Micheal I personally wouldn't choose Angelo as a middle name 😊

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 12/05/2023 13:10

Or you can go the full Monty and have a little Michelangelo.

LiquoriceAllsorts2 · 12/05/2023 13:10

I would choose Angelo. It’s not a common British name but I would say most people have heard of it and can pronounce it so wouldn’t find it odd, especially for someone originally from elsewhere.

Michael is a perfectly nice name but does feel a little bit like it belongs to someone 30+

I taught a lovely boy called Angelo. None of the kids batted an eyelid. They are so used to footballers with unusual names they just take it in their stride. He will probably be called Ang by his mates anyway.

Michael is a really nice name, although it's not been popular for a while. Time for a comeback.

Angelo is OK, but a bit too 'angel-y', a lot to live up to!

BrutusMcDogface · 12/05/2023 13:26

Angelo

Fabulous name!

cheapskatemum · 12/05/2023 13:42

Hopefully there aren't too many people around
a) old enough to remember
&
b) daft enough to start singing
the Brotherhood of Man song of that name (not Michael) when you announce it.

choochooandspook · 12/05/2023 13:43

definitely prefer Michael

Skybluepinky · 12/05/2023 13:56

Just reminds me of the Ninja Turtles.

TheIsleOfTheLost · 12/05/2023 14:00

I like both, but don't really and shortening of Mike.

PurpleReindeer2 · 12/05/2023 14:04

Michael much better than Angelo

KirstenBlest · 12/05/2023 14:27

You'd need to have the hairstyles to go with the name

GeraltsBathtub · 12/05/2023 14:29

Both of them feel a bit dated to me. What about Matteo?

Ellmau · 13/05/2023 15:50

Michelangelo and call him Michael for short :)
