DH and I both like all the names below, but none of them really jump out at us, so other opinions would be helpful.

So far we like:

Jessica
Ella
Olivia
Skye
Lucy
Sylvie
Cleo

Thank you!

Jessica or Lucy. Absolutely gorgeous and underrated names. Classic.

YellowGreenBlue · 20/04/2023 18:25

I love your list! Jessica, Lucy and Olivia are my favourites, Cleo and Skye are my least favourites. Alternative suggestions: how about Tess / Tessa and Summer?

DramaAlpaca · 20/04/2023 18:28

Apart from Ella, which is insubstantial, that's a lovely list (and I don't often say that on here.

My favourites are Lucy and Jessica, with Cleo up there too.

SunshineAndFizz · 20/04/2023 18:29

Jessica or Lucy.

GoodVibesHere · 20/04/2023 18:29

Jessica is lovely.

I also like Penny (Penelope), Lydia, and Louisa.

GoodVibesHere · 20/04/2023 18:30

Oh just realised you asked for other opinions, not other ideas!!

ourflagmeansdeath · 20/04/2023 18:32

Jessica - I don't like it
Ella - It's okay, but plain
Olivia - Same as Ella
Skye - Seems chavvy
Lucy - Lovely, gorgeous name
Sylvie - Beautiful but prefer Sylvia
Cleo - I dislike

So Lucy for me but I like Sylvie too

Newusername123456 · 20/04/2023 18:34

Love Sylvie, Ella and Cleo

Gingerlygreen · 20/04/2023 18:36

Ella and Lucy are my favourites.

My dd's are 8 and 10 and there are s lot of Olivia's and Jess's at their school.

Not keen on Sylvie, Skye or Cleo.

DoNutSweatTheSmallStuff · 20/04/2023 18:39

I like Ella and Jess.

Other suggestions:
Sophie
Chloe
Lauren
Anna
Thea
Bethan
Freya
Maya

Rebelmcstreettuff · 20/04/2023 18:53

I like Jessica or Lucy.
I know a 25 year old Jessica who was Jessy when younger but she now prefers Jess, think it's a very versatile name.

Twazique · 20/04/2023 18:58

I love Clio!

Zoe Thea Talia

DuchessOfSausage · 20/04/2023 19:22

Jessica - like it
Ella - overused and a bit nothingy
Olivia - overused
Skye - not keen
Lucy - like it
Sylvie - middle-aged french woman
Cleo - like

In order: Jessica, Lucy, Cleo
depends which sounds nicest with the surname

fhillipefloppe · 20/04/2023 19:28

Jessica - lovely but I think this will date
Ella - I put this with the Avas and Evies, doesn't have any meaning
Olivia - beautiful but so over used maybe Olive?
Skye - lovely but associated with the mean girl
Lucy - see it as very overused and dated. I think this will be the Sharon of the future and I hear Lucy and think loo-seat.
Sylvie - beautiful and unique, my favourite on your list.
Cleo - lovely name and my very close second

DuchessOfSausage · 20/04/2023 19:42

Jessica won't date, it's been around for centuries, as has Lucy, @fhillipefloppe
I'd say both were classic names. Jessica like Olivia is shakespearean.

Skybluepinky · 20/04/2023 20:00

Def not Ella it’s a dogs name, but the rest r lovely,

fairycupcakes · 20/04/2023 20:23

Jessica - Solid classic name, you can’t really go wrong with it though previous reading of mumsnet I’m sure you’ll have people telling you they don’t like the “sick” sound in it 🤷🏼‍♀️
Ella - There’s just not much too it. Isabelle or Isabella and nn Ella would be better.
Olivia - Pretty but so so over done now but it won’t date and will always be a pretty classic
Skye - Whilst it should be beautiful I find it chavvy which I know mumsnetters hate people saying about a name but that’s the only way I can describe it, sorry. I really do want to like it :(
Lucy - I prefer Lucia (Loo see a) sounds less like loo-seat
Sylvie - This is my favourite of your list. Really pretty
Cleo - I don’t understand the hype on this, I can only think about the car. Chloe is far better x

shoopshoopdedoo · 20/04/2023 21:20

I like Jessica and Lucy best. Olivia and Ella are nice but very popular. Cleo and Sylvie are OK, but I think I prefer Sylvia. I don’t like Skye.

Kranke · 20/04/2023 21:25

I’ve never met a Skye, it’s a nice sounding name and more unusual than the others. Jessica just reminds me of school, there were about 10 in my year! Same with the others, they’re a bit ‘meh’. Sylvie and Cleo are more different without being too unusual.

DrMeredithGrey2023 · 20/04/2023 21:28

Not keen on Skye.

Cleo will forever be a German shepherd's name to me 🤣

Olive over Olivia.

Lucy is classic and pretty

Jessica is versatile

VintedoreBay · 20/04/2023 21:49

Sylvie, Jessica or Lucy.

Dislike Olivia and Ella.
Hate Cleo and Skye.

Londonlady1423 · 20/04/2023 22:25

It's a lovely list of names, similar to mine. I prefer classic names over the more trendy ones so I like Jessica Lucy and Sylvie. The others feel a bit too of the moment especially Ella which is very popular and similar to lots of other popular names.

Other suggestions would be Sarah, Alice, Anna, Hannah, Rose, Mabel, Lara, Martha, Orla, Molly, Charlotte

Mumofgirls2017 · 20/04/2023 22:30

Skye, Cleo or possibly Sylvie. Bit more interesting than the others.

RedPandaFluff · 20/04/2023 22:38

Thanks everyone - I think I'm going to do a spreadsheet with scores, based on your responses, and see what comes out on top Grin
