Can Bella be a nickname for Isabelle?

These are our three final contenders:

Eva-Marie
Isabelle
Isabella

in that order. We haven't made up our minds yet, but theoretically could Bella be an occasional nickname for Isabelle or is that weird?

We like Isabelle a bit better than Isabella and would mostly use the full name but if people wanted to call her a nickname we'd prefer to offer Bella as a choice as we are not as fond of Izzie.

Thoughts?

But Bella is short for Isabella obviously

I have an Isabella, we call her Bella. Her friends call her Belle. Either will work with Isabelle.

I know an Isobel who goes by Izzy, another who doesn't shorten her name, and a third who goes by Bella.
I also know an Arabella who goes by Bella, and an Isabelle who is known as Belle.

I have a difficult name. I have to spell it all the time and I often just answer to an incorrect variation because it is easier. After a lifetime of spelling my name, I'm inclined to simple to spell and hard to get wrong names. I think Eva-Marie is pretty but she in for a lifetime of spelling it and it getting lost in lists because some people will write it Eva Marie or EvaMarie and so on. I know a child with a silent H in their name and it's a constant battle for them to get people to spell the name right and/or say it right.
