Sibling name for Joseph and Ophelia

Would love some opinions on a name
choice for no.3 please. She is sister to Joseph Oliver and Ophelia Rose and we’re struggling to find a girls name we love as much as Ophelia. We really like Thalia but I’m worried it’s too similar to Ophelia?? (Possibly Thalia Florence?) I like the idea of continuing the ‘ph’ theme but not keen on any other girls names with ph…

Persephone?

Olios · 10/04/2023 08:54

Josephine

Olios · 10/04/2023 08:55

Ignore ... reread you have a Joseph already

belleager · 10/04/2023 08:57

Daphne
Dymphna
Stephanie?

Lovebeingamummy2 · 10/04/2023 08:57

Isabella

I know it's not a 'ph' name but I think they go well together xx

Congratulations btw x

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 10/04/2023 08:59

Sophie? Retains the ‘o’ and ‘ph’ sounds if you like matchy.

Yestothis · 10/04/2023 09:00

I'd use Thalia if you want it anyway.

Sophia might be an option?

LlynTegid · 10/04/2023 09:01

Florence sounds nice. Would not use Josephine because of the connection with Napoleon.

CornishGem1975 · 10/04/2023 09:04

Seraphina, Sophia, Delphine,

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 10/04/2023 09:04

I think the main reason not to use Josephine is that she already has a Joseph!

JauntyRedShoes · 10/04/2023 09:11

Florence
Arabella
Talitha
Phoebe
Rosalind
Cordelia

andpeggy1 · 10/04/2023 09:12

Damaris

mumonherphone · 11/04/2023 08:21

My first thought was Phoebe, before I even saw that you wanted to carry on the PH theme.

Also like the suggestions of Daphne, Stephanie and Sophie.

Joseph Oliver, Ophelia Rose and ..
Claudia Phoebe
Jane Phaedra
Florence Adelphi
Maude Philippa
Charlotte Phryne

RosaSkye · 11/04/2023 14:53

Another vote for Persephone

MrsSamR · 11/04/2023 14:56

I have an Ophelia and her sister is Perdita nn Perdy

Sensing a theme here... 🤔🤣

MrsSamR · 11/04/2023 14:58

Persephone was on our list. Also:

Cecily
Clementine
Pandora

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 11/04/2023 15:20

Phoebe is a lovely suggestion.

Perhaps also Fiona? Very under-used at the moment.

wellingtonsandwaffles · 11/04/2023 15:49

I really like
Fenella - Nell
Ffion - Ffi

if you want proper PH though then my faves are
Daphne
Philomena
Philippa

Allywally3 · 12/04/2023 07:26

Thank you all for the suggestions! I’m not too bothered about it having to have a ‘ph’.. just trying to pick a favourite!

Others suggested Persephone as well but I’m worried people would pronounce it Perc-a-phone, not per-ceph-on-ee and I’d be constantly having to explain it??

Also our surname begins with an S which makes me rule out first names starting with S.

I suspect you’ll have fewer pronunciation issues with Persephone than with Thalia.

midsomermurderess · 12/04/2023 13:03

Ooh, Daphne, what a lovely suggestion.

RosaSkye · 12/04/2023 13:11

I know people worry about pronunciation issues but I don’t think it’s ever that big of a deal, if you think about it everyone that they ever work with, go to school with, see regularly will only actually need to be perhaps told it once and then they’ll say it correctly?? Unless it’s a really obscure made up name that doesn’t work phonetically, I don’t think it gets in the way of day to day life. You might get the odd person saying “Percy phone” at an appointment etc but most people would check how to say a name if they really weren’t sure

Mumofgirls2017 · 12/04/2023 16:39

I like Thalia with Ophelia. Suggestions

persephone
seraphina
daphne
phoebe

aurelia
matilda
clementine
felicity
imogen
aurora
penelope
rosalie
tallulah
eloise
henrietta
theodora
amelie
arabella
delilah

miniaturepixieonacid · 12/04/2023 17:57

I don't think Thalia is a problem with Ophelia (if you're saying it Tar-lee-a that is? I suppose Thay-lee-a is much closer to Ophelia).

Also like Persephone but I think it makes Joseph a bit odd man out-y as Ophelia becomes much posher when paired with Persephone to me.

How about Joseph, Ophelia and:
Abigail, Alexandra, Beatrice, Bronte, Cassandra, Charlotte, Daphne, Delilah, Elizabeth, Eleanor, Felicity, Francesca, Georgina, Gabriella, Hannah, Harriet, Isabel, Imogen, Katherine, Katrina, Lydia, Larissa, Madeleine, Miranda, Paloma, Philippa, Rosalie, Rebecca, Tabitha, Tamara, Verity, Vanessa, Zipporah
