Just come across this name today and really liked it. After some thoughts on it?

I prefer Leonora or Lenora which could be shortened to Lena or lenna but I prefer longer names you can shorted

Highlyflavouredgravy · 01/04/2023 08:54

It's like saying Lenny with a broad northern acccent

I’m ‘northern’. Nobody here or other places I’ve lived would say A as I.

KirstenBlest · 01/04/2023 09:44

I like it but there are so many L names popular right now, it will disappear into all the Lena, Luna, Lily, Lila, Lucy, Lyra, Lola type names.

shoopshoopdedoo · 01/04/2023 10:21

Like it!

Highlyflavouredgravy · 01/04/2023 11:01

I'm also northern and can hear it in my head! There is no 'i' sound anyway. Lenny rnds in an ee sound

massivesalads · 01/04/2023 11:02

Oh I really like this!

Never come across a Lenna but it's a really beautiful name.

Phoebo · 01/04/2023 11:20

Leena is much nicer

I sound anywhere I’ve lived. Lancs, Manchester, north and west Yorks, Cumbria. Are you from Liverpool? That’s the only place I can imagine saying Lennie with an eee sound.

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 01/04/2023 12:16

Too close to Lenny in a strong Mancunian accent.

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 01/04/2023 12:19

Lena (lee-na) is nice though.

Findyourneutralspace · 01/04/2023 12:22

I’d use it as a shortening for Helena, which is a beautiful name.

I’m Manc so I hear it as Lenny too.

Lena is nice, the ee sounds takes away the Lenny-ness of it.

NatMoz · 01/04/2023 12:31

We have a Lena (Yelena). I'm from Manchester area and never had an issue. It's Len (like pen) -a

SallyWD · 01/04/2023 12:35

It's not bad but prefer Lena which I think has a much nicer sound.

xigris · 01/04/2023 12:37

I know a Lenna. She’s Polish. I really like it

ourflagmeansdeath · 01/04/2023 13:33

It's quite nice but I prefer similar names like Lena, Lyra etc..

user1492757084 · 02/04/2023 05:55

Do you like Leonor, Senna or Alanna

midsomermurderess · 02/04/2023 13:23

Lena, as in Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) might be a bit kore familiar to people.

Luredbyapomegranate · 02/04/2023 18:16

It just sounds like a million similar popular names as PP says.

I think it’s quite harsh sounding.

amylou8 · 02/04/2023 18:29

How's it's pronounced? Len-na like Jenna. Or Lee-na. I'd go for either Lena or Leena or she'll be forever correcting people like me.

KirstenBlest · 02/04/2023 19:14

@amylou8 , rhymes with Jenna. Lena is Leena or Layna, so there would be confusion. Lenna is Estonian. The nn in English means the e makes a short eh sound like in Lenny or Penny

DramaAlpaca · 02/04/2023 19:15

I like it

Daisybuttercup12345 · 02/04/2023 19:49

Can't say I like it. Sounds like Leanna being said too fast.
