Lily May or Chloe Lee or Isabella?

jasminesunflower · 30/03/2023 20:26

Both names are first name/middle name, only called Chloe or Lily.

We asked about Lily May but many people told us it was a bit bland. I guess Chloe Lee is too? We just think they're sweet but maybe we need to pair them differently?

Other favorites of ours include Isabelle, Isabella, Bella, Cleo (or Clio), Ruby, Cassandra, Eva, Fiona, Emma and Emmie. We took Shelby off the first name list because many people didn't like it and Lilou because many didn't know how it was pronounced. We're not really feeling Elinor and Ellie at the moment. Not sure if we are brave enough to use Cleo and Cassandra is bound to be Cassie which we just like okay but don't love.

We always come back to Chloe and Lily. Then sometimes Isabella "Bella" or called by the full name. But no ideas for combos just yet.

Isabella is lovely.

Xanadu58 · 31/03/2023 08:58

Instead of Chloe Lee , what about Chloe Ellen ?

Cinnamon23 · 31/03/2023 09:06

What about Chloe Isabella?

RudsyFarmer · 31/03/2023 09:07

None of them. We have so many hyphenated names locally and they’re such a mouthful. As is Isabella. The latter is only known as Bella. So go for that.

StillWantingADog · 31/03/2023 09:10

Lily May is about as generic as you can get these days.

I like Lily but think it’s nicer with something longer as a middle name
Lily Maraget
Lily Josephine
etc but you might think a bit old fashioned

Chloe is a bit dated these days

Isabella is a classic and not as popular as it was 10-15 years ago

I really like Cleo from your list.

Lily Grace, Chloe Rose, Isabella Rose.

Noooo!
all nice names but Grace, Rose and May are all massively overused as either middle names or the second half of a hyphenated name.
perfectly nice as a first name though

Briallen · 31/03/2023 10:01

Lily Belle
Eva Mae

Willowtre1 · 31/03/2023 10:05

Cleo is lovely other options. I really think Lily is over used and not that great. Agree May as middle name is very common. Chloe is nice too. I like Isobel. Is Lee for middle name a family name. Could you do two middle names - so Cleo (plus another name you love) Lee?

Pammy39 · 31/03/2023 10:17

I love Lily May

TheIsleOfTheLost · 31/03/2023 14:22

Nothing wrong with any of your names. I would go with Cleo over Renault Clio for the spelling if you go with that name. Emmie is fine for a little girl, but not so much as an adult. Emma can be nicknamed Emmie so she has more choice when older?

countingallthseconds · 31/03/2023 14:30

There are so many kids with these sorts of names in DC's class.

fairycupcakes · 31/03/2023 14:47

Lily & Chloe are both lovely but the adding May or Lee does feel really dated.

out of the names you’ve suggested how about these for middles:

Chloe Emma
Chloe Eve/Eva
Chloe Fiona

or

Lily Cassandra
Lily Emma
Lily Fiona

I also like the names Emma and Emmie from your list so you could also have:

Emmie Cassandra
Emma Lily both of which I think sound lovely too x

PurpleAirGuitar · 31/03/2023 19:29

Lee feels more like a boy's name to me, especially with that spelling. I like both Chloe Isabella and Lily Cassandra, and think one of those two would be a particularly good choice if you might eventually need another girl's name, as they'd sound good together, both consisting of a shortish, mainstream popular first name and a longer and fancier sounding middle name.

I wouldn't be too quick to rule out Lilou either - it's interesting. I'm assuming it's Lil-ou or Lee-lou rather than Lie-lou. If so, Chloe Lilou and Emma Lilou are both rather nice combinations - but then you probably wouldn't ever be able to use Lily, so that's another thing to take into consideration.

Are you a traveller?

Musntapplecrumble · 24/12/2023 20:07

Isabella. Gorgeous.

43ontherocksporfavor · 24/12/2023 20:09

Lilly may or Chloe Lee are very chavvy. Stick with Isabella and if you like you can nn Bella.
Or just Lilly or just Grace . Forget the cheapening hyphen

Daisybuttercup12345 · 24/12/2023 22:01

Chloe Isabella
Leah
Lilah
Lyra
Lily is very common now xx

OopsieeDaisy · 24/12/2023 22:49

Agree with posters suggesting Lily Cassandra, lovely name. I’d personally stay away from Lily May (or anything May for that matter) as it’s so popular/overused just now.

Happy2024 · 24/12/2023 23:41

I love Chloe.

Lily is a pretty name too.

Isabella is so popular when you take into account all the spellings and variations.

From your longer list, Emma is one of my favourite names.

I don’t personally think the middle name matters too much, as long as you love it, go for it!

If you keep coming back to Chloe and Lily then choose one of those, they are both beautiful

Pemba · 25/12/2023 05:08

Chloe is gorgeous, although it has gone out of fashion a bit now, but still lovely. Chloe Lee doesn't flow well, Chloe May would flow. Zoe is a similar beautiful name.

Isabella is also gorgeous but it's been everywhere the last few years.

Lily is pretty, but I prefer the other names.

Pemba · 25/12/2023 05:10

Oh Emma is nice, prefer it to Lily really.

CharlieBoo · 25/12/2023 07:38

There are literally Lily’s and Bellas everywhere .. honestly it makes it very dull. Chloe would be my choice but not with Lee

SabbatWheel · 25/12/2023 07:42

Cleo. (Not Clio for Renault reasons).
All the others are so common in schools apart from Cassandra, which would be my second choice.

muddyford · 25/12/2023 08:18

Fiona is gorgeous. Emma is lovely too.

Previousreligion · 25/12/2023 08:56

I love Fiona and Cassandra!

I know two Cleos, I don't think you need to be brave to use it, they haven't had any problems as far as I'm aware!
