Emilia Millie Surname

We love this name- and Millie is a family name- however we have seen that Millie can be used as a nickname for Emilia. We would use the nickname Emmy or Mila.

What's everyone's thoughts

We love the first name and this Isn't being changed, but would consider changing the middle name if we had too.

Yeah sorry, too close to be used together IMO.

CheekyHusky · 22/03/2023 04:29

IMHO Millie is short for Emilia, you may as well name her Emilia Emilia

user1492757084 · 22/03/2023 04:48

Too close for sure. Yes, choose another second name.

Millie is very common as a nick name for Emilia/Amelia etc.
Emilia - Emmy, Millie or Mila

Sandysandwich · 22/03/2023 05:08

Yeah a little too similar. It sounds like your introducing her nickname with her name, like this is Emilia 'Millie' Thomas.
Like Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, or Rodney 'Rodders' McCree

Madamecastafiore · 22/03/2023 06:16

That's like calling your kid Charles Charlie Surname.

Twoinapod · 22/03/2023 11:32

Definitely too similar. Personally I’d change Emilia but there’s so many Emilia/Amelia’s everywhere now it just sounds like a noise

villamariavintrapp · 22/03/2023 11:57

Well yes it's too close, but nobody really uses their middle name, so if it has meaning and you want to use it then go for it. Her nickname will probably be Millie anyway.

DinaofCloud9 · 22/03/2023 12:01

Yes too common. Why not just call her Millie? Emilia is very very common now.

aSofaNearYou · 22/03/2023 12:13

I'd just call her Emilia and use the nickname Millie.

derbylass81 · 22/03/2023 12:37

Too similar.

Millie is sweet, but Emilia is such a mouthful, not keen at all.

RuthW · 22/03/2023 15:40

No. You would use Elizabeth Liz or Thomas Tom.

MikeLitoriss · 22/03/2023 17:42

It's the same as using
Peter Pete
David Dave
Christopher Chris
Elizabeth Lizzie
Victoria Vicky

I could go on 😂...

Millie is the nickname of Emilia so your already honouring the family name in the first name so you could use a completely different middle name after Emilia.

ourflagmeansdeath · 22/03/2023 18:11

I mean of course it is too similar but if you're really set on it, then it could work as a middle name because first and middle names are hardly put together. Do think it's better to find another middle name though to give her a bit more originality!

Agree that you are sort of already honouring the family member Millie by using Emilia.

Luredbyapomegranate · 22/03/2023 21:56

Yeah, it reads like a typo for Emilia nn Millie. It would be v v odd to call her that.

KirstenBlest · 24/03/2023 22:37

Mila as a nn for Emilia seems a bit contrived, unless you are saying it as mee-la
