Should add - I would like to try and avoid there being multiple kids with baby's name in the same class!
TheGreatestunknown · 18/03/2023 09:01
Luther was on my list I ended up going with Louis haha
Uhm honestly all the names are nice enough but I can imagine they'll be a quite a few children with a lot of the same names.
Luther is probably the most unique on your list but girls names are quite common (as in popularity)
Saying that I named my daughter Dahlia and I thought that was different but I've met a couple since she was born but before that I knew non so it's hard to say really
Tillyscoutsmum · 18/03/2023 09:11

I like your name lists.
Of the girls I think Fern/Lois/Erin are cute and not that common. I like Anna as a non for Annabel. Not wild about Alyssa or Eden.
Boys - I think Ray is due a comeback. Quite like Henry and Toby. Not sure about Rosco (but of a hairy hound kind of name) and Max is a bit meh.
TempsPerdu · 18/03/2023 10:51
Off your girls’ list I really like Hazel and Fern, and Lois is growing on me recently. The others are either a bit popular for my taste (Lily, Freya) or too girly/frilly (Annabel, Alyssa).
I quite like Toby, despite it being fairly common, but would use Tobias. Robin and Rory are nice too, and I’m also kind of liking Roscoe, although it is definitely a bit ‘doggy’!

A few more I like whilst we're here:
Tara
Bessie
Faye
Bonnie
Nia
Edie
Alice nn Allie
Elliott

Lily - ok but overused
Hazel - ok
Lois - ok
Fern - ok and the best spelling
Annabel - ok, a bit too frilly for me. Prefer Annie or Anna
Freya - dull from overuse. Frey is awful
Lydia - nice but will be Lyds
Molly - ok but I know lots of older ones
Anya - a bit wet sounding.Prefer Annie or Anna
Erin - don't like it
Alyssa - Alice is much nicer
Eden - dreadful
Middle name either Margaret or Clare (family names)
Clare was a filler middle name in my age-group. Margaret is much nicer
Toby - fine, Tobias on BC?
Rory - Wowy, Vovy. Lots of people can't say R
Luther - too religious
Ezra - don't like it. Ez!
Rosco - don't like it
Ray - yes especially if short for Raymond
Henry - fine
Maxwell nn Max - Max ok, don't like Maxwell
Lucas - ok but Luke/Luca/Lucas popular
Robin - ok, but Roman, Rory, Reuben, Rowan etc popular
Middle name David (family name) - can't go wrong
FayCarew · 18/03/2023 12:26
Fern/Lois/Erin are cute and not that common
Fern is probably quite popular if you include the Ferne and Fearne spellings, but still not excessively popular
Lois - popular in Wales, and usually pronounced Loyce by Welsh-speakers
Erin - #59 in 2021. Looks nicer than it sounds IMO
Tara - ok, but 'goodbye' where I'm from
Bessie - not mad on Bessie but Bess is awesome
Faye - prefer Fay, which is lovely
Bonnie - Eminem's Stan
Nia - ok but Mia is overused
Edie - erectile dysfunction or eating disorder. Evie overused
Alice nn Allie - just Alice is lovely
Elliott - ok, will also get Eliot, Elliot and Eliott, too many El names currently popular
Flynn - ok but Finn and Finlay/Finley very popular
Sebastian - don't like
Ash - tray?
Griffin nn Griff - fine
Roland nn Ro* - Roland and Roly ok, Ro a bit too short
sunmonlight · 18/03/2023 12:40
For girls I like Eden and Annabelle.
Boys, I like Robin, Ezra and Luther.
Templebreedy · 18/03/2023 12:48
Lydia and Rory. Quite like Molly. Lily is so common you might as well call her Girl #24357. Roscoe and Ray are awful.
notthisagainforest · 18/03/2023 12:53

BevMarsh · 18/03/2023 12:57
I like
Annabel Clare
Maxwell David
However much prefer
Alice and Sebastian from your update 😀
MyOtherUsernameIsDave · 18/03/2023 12:57
Freya and Lily are immensely popular, so avoid if you don’t want your child to have the same name in their class! Especially when paired with Rose/May/Grace which they all are.
Mumofgirls2017 · 18/03/2023 12:58
I’d pick Hazel, Annabel, Eden; Ray, Henry or Maxwell
BridieConvert · 18/03/2023 13:18
Lily - lovely but popular
Hazel - not a fan
Lois - love, was on my list
Fern - love
Annabel - not a fan makes me think of the doll
Freya - too popular but I do love it
Lydia - lovely
Molly - not a fan
Anya - not a fan
Erin - love (my 3yo is Erin)
Alyssa - has the potential to be popular
Eden - love
I think Margaret goes best with Lois, Fern, Erin and Eden. Clare goes best with Lydia.
