Just wondering what you all thought of Amelia Rose (millie) or Tabitha or Matilda (tilly). We like them all really. We want somthing classy and traditional.

My DD1 is called Matilda. We call her Tilly but wanted some options for her later as I know another one who at age 6 would NOT answer to Tilly, only Matilda or Louise!!

Mind you since I had her 4 years ago there have been 4 babies I know called Matilda too so it must be getting more popular.

Many, many Milly's everywhere!! My friend has an Amelia and a Matilda.

I like Tabitha and also Tallulah but that has become rather a celeb name.

TillyScoutsmum · 13/02/2008 11:56

I like Matilda (Tilly) - obviously . Haven't actually come across any more yet in rl

Like the other 2 as well - not so keen on the hyphen on Amelia-Rose though

All lovely names imho

Paddlechick666 · 13/02/2008 12:20

Dinny, are you me and you've namechanged?

Ned's great, I really like that but if I had an Edward I would probably end up with Ed.

Altho, I thought I'd end up with Tabby and didn't so who knows.

Ned's growing on me now tho..........

dinny · 13/02/2008 12:32

so weird, hey?

I have a friend with a Tilda, really like that too.

meglet · 13/02/2008 14:26

Tabitha is lovely. It's my middle name and I wish it was my first!

shelty · 13/02/2008 14:48

Amelia was on the list when I had my son 19 months ago but it seems everyone else does too (its getting v popular)so when I had my daughter , 6 months ago I used it for her middle name and decided to have the spelling Emilia - her first name is Florence and we call her Flossie. Matilda was also on the list, as was Beatrice which I love as Bea. Not sure about Tabitha, sorry! I also want to twitch my nose when I hear it (its the era!)

branflake81 · 13/02/2008 15:43

Do not like Tabitha (too pretentious), don't like Tilly (too twee) but do like Amelia. What's Rose - the middle name? Oh and not Millie. Too twee again.

mummyloveslucy · 13/02/2008 19:00

Yes, Rose would be the middle name.

Tilly is a cute name but bear in mind that in some parts of the country it is slang for 'lady bits'.

My dd is Mathilda Beatrice Rose so you can guess my favourite. Far too popular though.

Lizzylou · 06/03/2008 20:48

I know a beautiful Matilda and i DS2 had been a girl, his middle name would have been Rose.
