Hello,

I am due our DS in a few weeks and I am not sure which of the two names will be better for him in the Uk.

We originally come from another country and I have no clue which name is better here.

Ari and Aris is pretty much the same name in my country but I guess it’s not the case here…

Thanks all!

Ari, out of the two would be better.

Aris is rhyming slang for arse.

Aris is rhyming slang for arse in some places

Personally I like Ari better. Is it pronounced Ah-ree? That's how I read it at least!

Aris may be pronounced Harris without the H (Ah-riss)

DysonBison · 07/03/2023 09:45

Aris might look a bit close to Arse for skim reading?

That's what I read and I don't even have that accent.

Ari = Harry

Aris = Harris

A Yorkshire Harry

RaininSummer · 07/03/2023 10:45

Definitely Ari in the UK.

I thought Aris was for a girl when I saw the title so I’d say go for Ari.

Ari for sure.

Neither work if you're London or the SE where most of us can't pronounce H. (H)arry, (H)arris. I know a Hayden that I thought was Aiden for at least a year.
