Leonardo is fine for a boy and man..
I prefer Leonard and Leo and Leomin

RuthW · 02/03/2023 12:20

Nice

toastofthetown · 02/03/2023 12:26

It’s inoffensive. Leo is the (almost inevitable) diminutive which is about as exciting as a glass of water.

minipie · 02/03/2023 12:34

I love Leo

If you don’t have Italian heritage I think I’d stick with Leo or Leon or Leonard rather than Leonardo.

LulooLemon · 02/03/2023 13:00

It's nice. I like Leo (as a proper name) even more.

daisypond · 02/03/2023 20:07

I think it’s a bit odd without Italian links. I do like how it sounds, however.

ourflagmeansdeath · 02/03/2023 20:08

I prefer just Leo, I think it's much nicer.

notthisagainforest · 02/03/2023 20:26

Leo or Leon both nice but not leonardo

Findyourneutralspace · 02/03/2023 20:27

i like it but I’d call him Lenny day to day

Sheitgeist · 04/03/2023 16:55

I love it!

Daisybuttercup12345 · 05/03/2023 01:09

Leo is fine 🙂

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 05/03/2023 01:25

Depends. Leonardo Wilson is a bit much.

DramaAlpaca · 05/03/2023 01:31

To carry off Leonardo I think you really need Italian heritage.

Leo or Leon, Leonard if you must, are perfectly fine.

Luredbyapomegranate · 05/03/2023 01:34

It’s nice. There are loads of Leos (and Theos) about, if that bothers you.

bamboonights · 05/03/2023 01:38

Sorry don't like it-but Leo is fine.

greenspaces4peace · 05/03/2023 01:41

Well it’s certainly not a girls name.
Best if you have an Italian/Mediterranean connection.

rubydoobydoo · 05/03/2023 01:51

It's actually a lovely name, but my fist thought was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Probably showing my age there 😅
If you have an Italian connection then it's fine- kids today won't know the turtle thing! If not I'd just stick with Leo.

If you're actually going for that and naming him AFTER the the turtle, then I think Raphael is much nicer!

Inthetropics · 05/03/2023 02:44

It's a very common name where I live (not Italy!). I like it! Lovely name!

minipie · 02/03/2023 12:34

I love Leo

If you don’t have Italian heritage I think I’d stick with Leo or Leon or Leonard rather than Leonardo.

Agreed.

Leo is nice but Leonardo/Luigi/Vincenzo/etc would be a bit weird for somebody of English heritage. A bit like calling your son Akimbombo.

dotty12345 · 05/03/2023 03:12

Heroes in a half shell!

Heroes in a half shell!

😂

I never got the half shell thing. Turtles have a whole shell. 🤔
