So think we have it down to two, I have a preference as does my husband.

Tommy Douglas. (The name Tommy Douglas goes back the last 5 generation of men on my side, and Tommy the last two in my husbands) skipping only our parents. My fear is it's a bit "overdone"

Stanley Thomas, ( this was our boy name of our DD had been a girl, and always the name I imagined our son)

Stanley Thomas is nice. He could be anything.

Tommy Douglas is also nice. I imagine a sportsman, a dare devil pilot or singer in a band. The name is casual and suits a youngster at heart.

Thomas Douglas has the two 's' endings but I still prefer the full name Thomas. I like the option of a formal name, Thomas.

First names are used the most.
Of all the names I prefer Thomas as the first name..
Of the names remaining I prefer Douglas.

shopmyfeelings · 27/02/2023 07:39

I like Stanley and Thomas but not Tommy unless it's a nickname.

Reddahlias · 27/02/2023 07:43

I only like Douglas.

Moosh18 · 27/02/2023 07:53

Thank you for opinions, it wouldn't be Thomas. It would be Tommy, which is the family name x

Stanley Thomas

Whydoitry · 27/02/2023 08:46

I would choose Stanley because it sounds like that's what you prefer. I wouldn't choose a name I was less keen on for family reasons.

How about Stanley Tommy Douglas?

Moosh18 · 27/02/2023 09:01

@Whydoitry I'm so conflicted! I'm hoping when he comes out he will look like one of them!

I really hate the name Tommy so I vote for Stanley

Billslills · 27/02/2023 09:07

Stanley Tommy Douglas. Love it!

MrsBunnyEars · 27/02/2023 09:07

Definitely Tommy. Stanley is quite try-hard, but any variety of Thomas/ Tommy/ Tom are lovely and solid names.

Briallen · 27/02/2023 09:11

I like Stanley thomas or Thomas Douglas but not a fan of Tommy as a first name

Mumofgirls2017 · 27/02/2023 16:15

Stanley Thomas 100%

angelis0 · 27/02/2023 16:25

I prefer Tommy Douglas but it sounds like based on your own thoughts that Stanley Thomas is the name you should go for! (Also nice!)

ourflagmeansdeath · 27/02/2023 17:49

Agree with PP - Tommy Douglas is much nicer to me, but I can tell you'd like Stanley Thomas more!

soleilblue · 27/02/2023 17:57

Stanley Tommy Douglas

Yesthatismychildsigh · 27/02/2023 18:10

Tommy Douglas isn’t good. Thomas Douglas doesn’t go. Stanley Thomas is the infinitely better option.

Woahhohoho · 27/02/2023 18:41

Stanley for sure, love it!

Twoinapod · 27/02/2023 18:42

Out of all Douglas, but with your options, Stanley Thomas definitely. All Tommys I’ve met have been absolute 💩s

Billslills · 27/02/2023 09:07

Stanley Tommy Douglas. Love it!

Initials STD 😬

helpmum2003 · 27/02/2023 18:47

Definitely Stanley Thomas, I'm not keen on Tommy as a name, it's a nickname.

Luredbyapomegranate · 27/02/2023 20:52

Tommy isn’t great as a full name.

So Stanley

VickerishAllsort · 27/02/2023 21:01

Don't like Tommy, although I have a Thomas, known as Tom, which I do love.
Don't like Stanley at all. Stans wear flat caps and drink pints of mild.

Initials STD 😬

Good pick up!!

PMAmostofthetime · 28/02/2023 13:46

Tommy is very trendy atm and seems to be everywhere due to peaky blinders and Tommy Fury

Stanley Thomas

And Douglas Thomas are lovely.
