Mila or celine

LG born 24th Jan. Took me a week to settle on Mila Eve, however its never felt 100% right. Due to register this week, but still not sure on her name although everyone has gotten used to it now.

What are peoles honest thoughts on Celine? Too out there? Too associated with the singer? My eldest is called orlagh.

Other option is to just go with Eve?

Mila is much better. Celine will always be associated with the singer and so seems quite dated. There are so many Eve/Evie’s that it would just blend in. Mila Eve is beautiful I would stick with that. It can take a while for the name to be associated with the baby sometimes. I was the same with my second, now I can’t imagine her being anything else.

I like Mila. And Eve. I’d rather Selene or Selena than Celine - it’s very associated with the singer to me - though it’s a nice name.

Celine! I always mention it in the baby name threads. She will not be growing up in a generation that knows the singer anyway. There are too many baby Milas, it’s a nice enough name, but sounds like so many other names if you see what I mean. Celine is not only beautiful but a bit different too.

I agree I know lots of Mila's I like Celine and I don't think Celine Dion is a reason not to use the name...think twice 😉

I like Celine I went to school with a Celine so I don't associate it with the singer.

Mila - too much Dr Pimple Popper sounds like a skin condition.

But actually if you can't decide then maybe neither are 100% right for you and you should go back to the baby name book see if there is something else that suits better.

I find Mila very meh, it’s faddy. There are sooooo many Evie’s, Eve would just be another Evie.

Prefer Selene, or Selena.

Celine is a gorgeous name, but so is Mila. As a PP said, that generation wouldn't know the singer so don't worry about that.

I'd go for Mila Selene. Celine is too Celine Dion and Mila Eve doesn't flow brilliantly

Mila Eve is sweet and great with Orlagh.

Otherwise Camila Eve or Celia Eve.
Celine Eve is not as attractive in sound.

mila is overrated. celine is much more unique. children her age wouldn't be familiar with celine dion anyways. i love the spelling selene, or maybe selena?

No to Celine. It is too connected with the singer. Well it is in my view. Others may differ. I love Eve and have for years and I think it’s far nicer than Evie or Eva which seem to be more popular. You wouldn’t have to change any documentation either. Just start to use it.

I don't like Mila very much. Celine is better. Are there no other names you like.

Orlagh (slightly odd spelling, neither Orla or Orlaith, is it a non Irish version?) sounds Celtic, whereas Celine is very very French sounding.

Mila is...ok, but everyone is called Maya/Mia/Mylah/Ava/Eva these days.

What about another Celtic name? Aisling ('Ashling'), Cara, Ciera?

Or Seren?

Mila's pretty so that, but I quite like Celine too!!

Mila is such a wet, insubstantial name.

Celine is much better, stronger and nicer.

However, Eve is the best of the lot, a great name. Eve Celine, job done.
