I'm sure not everyone will like these names and I don't even know if we have the one on here, but thoughts on these names? Middle name is likely to be Thomas

Hugo
Stanley
Sebastian
Fraser
Ralph
Douglas
Edison
Ellis

Ellis is my favourite boys name but unfortunately I think Ellis Thomas is a mouthful of S's.
Likewise Douglas Thomas.
Edison Thomas, I wouldn't use unless you're a big fan of the famous inventor Thomas Edison.
Stanley, Sebastian, Ralph would be my choices from the rest, all are lovely.
Hugo, Fraser, nothing wrong with them just not my choice.

There's a Lord Elis-Thomas. Doesn't strike me as a mouthful, and his is a double barrelled surname, whereas middle names don't get used much.

I prefer Thomas to Ellis

We've just been discussing this and thinking maybe Tommy Douglas, Tommy Douglas goes back the last six generations in my family, maybe it's a sign

I thought you were calling him Vote!
I was curious to see what other people's opinions were.

I actually like all those names (never happens)

Moosh18 · 25/02/2023 12:09

@SomersetBrie haha! Vote. Aww thank you! I like them all just haven't felt a click with one, maybe that's because he isn't here yet! X

Sebastian or Ralph. Both great names and would suit a child or adult.

Jeclop · 25/02/2023 12:43

My son is called Hugo and I absolutely love it. We chose it because it's international and so if he ever chose to move abroad or have dealings with other countries he wouldn't have issues with his name (we are a mixed family. French/ Spanish/ English so gave this thought).

I also love Sebastian for the same reason. We would have chosen this for our second boy but already knew a Sebastian.

I think with the world becoming more and more global these are valid points to consider. No one can ever pronounce my name abroad and that always bothered me growing up.

Jeclop · 25/02/2023 12:47

Meant to add. Oscar is also another good 'international' name. Not on the list but really like it too

I know two Edisons! Great name but my first choice is Stanley

Agree with your husband - Hugh, then Fraser or Ellis.
