Can I use June if the baby isn’t born in June?

It would be a middle name and chosen because it’s also my grandma’s middle name. Baby due mid July so June birthday is not impossible but unlikely.

I always thought it wouldn’t be an option but I was thinking today I know a Summer who was born in January. It was a bit weird when she was born but years later it’s just her name. Most people would have no idea when the birthday fell. And most people would never know your middle name.

Yes of course! It's a lovely name :) I have an August who wasn't born in August :)

FfaCoffi · 23/02/2023 18:55

Of course you can, and especially if it's a family name and a middle name.

Boxofsockss · 23/02/2023 18:56

Of course. I’d be less inclined to use it if the baby was born in June!

FordCreek · 23/02/2023 18:58

I love this name!

FightingFatAt49 · 23/02/2023 18:59

I know an April born in Oct, a June born in August and probably lots more I don't even know.

Summertimesunshineandfizz · 23/02/2023 18:59

I know 2 Junes, both born in March. (Not hard to work out…)

DramaAlpaca · 23/02/2023 18:59

Of course you can

I thought this too. I can’t make a logical argument why I feel that way by it makes sense to my brain!

Well there's 100 million kids with may as a middle name and I'm sure they weren't all born in may🤷‍♀️

Luredbyapomegranate · 23/02/2023 20:11

As a middle name yes.

Maireas · 23/02/2023 20:16

I think June is a lovely name and it's a shame it won't be her first name. You'd certainly be ahead of the curve!

Please do ❤️

I know an April born in August.

Btjdkfnn · 23/02/2023 20:22

As long as baby not born in March. The June I knew who was born in March had the piss taken out of her for her entire life.

BigglyBee · 23/02/2023 20:26

I have a month name and was not born in that month. Don't do it as a first name, but a middle name is fine. (Now, it doesn't matter at all, but I spent a lot of time as a child explaining that no, my birthday wasn't in the month of my name, and I hated it.)

I'm obviously missing something, but why?

March babies are conceived in June

NotAllWhoWanderAreLost · 23/02/2023 20:36

Of course you can!

people use flower names, god and goddess names…

every name has a “meaning” and they aren’t always researched and/or relevant.

you have sentiment to yours too - enjoy your baby OP

Thethingswedoforlove · 23/02/2023 21:07

my dm is a June and she was born in mid July. It’s fine!!

royalrecording · 24/02/2023 07:02

The month of June was named after the goddess Juno so of course you can. It was a name before it was a month. August, May and July are named for people/gods too.

tatteddear · 24/02/2023 09:02

I used May (Mae) for a baby due in May but who ended up coming in June . We had just got used to calling the bump that and it stuck. I actually like June better as a name but Then H felt it was too old lady ish. I think it's due a revival.

I was at school with someone called a February which I loved!

IWIllDoItNowInAMinute · 24/02/2023 14:48

Yes you can. Although I know June is the month too, I think of the name as separate to the month. I don’t associate the 2 in my head .

FoofOfTheWalkingDead · 24/02/2023 14:51

I had a lovely aunt named June. She was born in April. I think it's a lovely name and so nice that it has a family connection.

lmnabc · 24/02/2023 14:59

I know a June born in June! I've never thought anything of it.
