I am 35 weeks pregnant and still not set on any girl names, at the moment we like:

Raeya, Raea or Raya? Would like honest opinions on this please. Does the spelling just confuse you? I like to be pronounced 'Ray - a '
Hallie
Callie

But the middle name is going to be Lily and I'm not sure Hallie or Callie rolls, what does everyone think?

I really like short unique names so any suggestions will be much appreciated 😁

The only spelling that isn't confusing and looks right for the pronunciation you want out of those, imo, is Raya. But it does make me think of the dating app.

I like Hallie, less keen on Callie but still nice. Neither go with Lily though imo.

JammyDodgerrr · 16/02/2023 15:39

Out of all of them I like Raya Lily
Orla is a lovely name too just to throw it out there.

FayCarew · 16/02/2023 15:39

Don't worry about the middle name. It only gets used occasionally like at graduating ceremonys, wedding day and court appearances.

Raya is the easiest spelling.
Not keen on Hallie.

Lily is nicer than any of the first names

ALS94 · 16/02/2023 15:40

Im on the fence about Raya (don’t like the other spellings), it’s from a recent Disney film so I don’t think it will stay unique for long

I like Callie and Hallie but with the middle name Lilly there are too many l’s and e’s

Clara Lily
Cora Lily
Aria Lily
Thea Lily
Cleo Lily
Erin Lily
Erica Lily

20viona · 16/02/2023 15:42

Rays. Raena is nice too

Zola1 · 16/02/2023 15:43

I don't think callie or hallie go with lily, too heavy on the Ls. I like Raya..the other spellings look like Rye-ah

WaltzingWaters · 16/02/2023 15:51

I like Raya.

Hallie and Callie are also nice but not with Lily.

Mummyof287 · 16/02/2023 15:52

Raya Lily for sure....or Lillie if you don't want to many Ys

blondeshoulderlength · 16/02/2023 15:55

Hallie is currently #42 in the top 100 baby names so if you want unusual it may not be the one to go for.

I've never heard of Raya before it's a lovely name. Google says its Hebrew and Slavic, unsure of the pronunciation but I'm assuming rye-uh? I think Raya spelling is my favourite out of the options.
Worth mentioning that Raya is the name of a dating app and now a networking app too for private members (I hate when companies use human names).

Short girls names not (yet) in the top 100:
Cassie
Tessa
Dawn
Roxy
Nora
June
Aella
Cleo
Willa

Rauha · 16/02/2023 15:55

Raya is lovely and I'd say it Ray-ah. The only Raya I know pronounces it Rye-ah, though, so there's scope for mispronunciation in any case.

bathbombaholic · 16/02/2023 15:57

I love Raya! Beautiful name! Keep it simple tho if you don't want it mispronounced x

bathbombaholic · 16/02/2023 15:58

Or you could spell Rayah? Also very beautiful x

Meandfour · 16/02/2023 15:59

I know a girl with that pronunciation and her name is spelt Reyah.

SleeplessInSettle · 16/02/2023 16:01

Have you considered Rayna? I’ve loved it since watching Nashville.

mathanxiety · 16/02/2023 16:45

Raya Lily is nice. I'd spell it Raya - that's the easiest route to the pronunciation you like.

Hallie is nice but not with Lily unless you used another name as a second name - Hallie Clementine Lily for example.

How about Calla - it's the name of a type of lily. You could use another middle name.
Calla Cecily, Calla Emily...

mathanxiety · 16/02/2023 16:56

Other short, unique names:
Rue
Rae
Rune
Cleo
Cara
Carly
Fia

Sage
Vita
Lois
Una
Dinah
Noa
Elle
Faye
Anya
Livia
Pia
Kay

BevMarsh · 16/02/2023 17:04

Raya Lily is beautiful
Callie Lily would be odd given there's an actual lily that sounds v similar.

ourflagmeansdeath · 16/02/2023 19:38

Really love Raya Lily, it's so pretty. With that spelling of Raya, don't like the others. And not keen on Callie, and don't MIND Hallie but Hallie Lily is a bit of a mouthful.

Mumofgirls2017 · 16/02/2023 22:11

I like Hallie and Callie but not with Lily!!! Raya is ok spelt that way. Other suggestions:

Maeve Lily
Eden Lily
Kaya Lily
Maya Lily
Amaya Lily
Aurora Lily
Cassia Lily
Cora Lily
Zara Lily
Nova Lily
Vienna Lily
Juno Lily
Madison Lily
Theia Lily
Tiana Lily

gettingalifttothestation · 16/02/2023 22:13

It's a lovely name. It works best the first way you wrote it

Penguinsaregreat · 16/02/2023 22:19

I think Lilly is by far the nicest name. I think anything other than Raya will get mis pronounced and I don’t like Raya, it looks like Ray which isn’t nice.
You can’t call her Callie Lily or Hallie Lily it sounds daft.

Viviennemary · 16/02/2023 22:23

Since you like Lily I would go for that as a first name. Its far nicer than the other names you mentioned. I don't like any of these very much.,

Thewheelweavesasthewheelwills · 16/02/2023 22:24

Raya is pretty I think.

mumonherphone · 16/02/2023 22:45

I would use Raya if Lily has to be the middle name. There is a film on Disney plus "Raya and the last Dragon" which is sweet.

Callie and Hallie are fine but don't flow with Lily.

user1492757084 · 17/02/2023 13:51

Lily is nice as a middle name.
I saw a tiny girl in a shop yesterday called Rhaya. It was pronounced Ray-a. I'd never heard of it but I liked it.
Cally and Hallie don't sound well with Lily.

Raya Lily
Aerin Lily
Mary Lily
Sara Lily
Mietta Lily
Jane Lily
Lily Rae
Cally Rae
Carla Rae
Carys Lily
