Expecting a little bit at the end of May, our first baby :)
Me and boyfriend both love the name Tommy but that's the only name we both really agree on.
I really like the name Bram (reading Dracula when I found out I was pregnant) and I want a name that isn't too popular but not too out there. Boyfriend really likes Keanu but I think that would be more of a middle name.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Names like Tommy, or thoughts on other names mentioned! Thank you! :D

Stick with Tommy. Bram is bad.

LulooLemon · 15/02/2023 16:58

Tommy is lovely.

I would put Thomas on the birth certificate which gives the options of diminutives of Tommy and Tom.

Rauha · 15/02/2023 17:08

Tommy is great, stick with it.

HuntingoftheSnark · 15/02/2023 17:13

I love Bertram, and Bram could be a nickname for that. I think it can be short for Abraham too.

Otherwise Thomas is a lovely name.

Findyourneutralspace · 15/02/2023 17:14

Thomas (Tommy) Bertram (Bram)

Perfect!

Pinkdafodils · 15/02/2023 17:18

I know sooo many Toms/Tommys

Bram is much more interesting and memorable!

NotACodfish · 15/02/2023 17:22

I prefer Tommy/Thomas to Bram and Keanu.
As a suggestion how about Tobias? Nn Toby? I'm not sure how popular it is, but I don't know anyone with this name personally.

Twoinapod · 15/02/2023 17:39

Tommy I absolutely hate, they always seem to be awful.

I like Bram, it’s different without being too crazy.

keanu I’m not keen, people will always ask if your big fans of keanu reeves

if you wanted a full name on the BC bram stokers full name was Abraham. But I think Bram is fine.

An alternative could be the welsh name Bran

RuthW · 15/02/2023 17:59

Thomas is lovely.

Bram is nice.

Tommy is a no from me.

Beaucielblues · 15/02/2023 18:05

I also like Tobias. Saw a beautiful baby with that name today.

Teeshirt · 15/02/2023 18:10

Tommy is just awful. Thomas with a nickname if Tommy is fine.
Bram is fine. It’s short for Abraham. Miles better than Tommy anyway.

Vaughn.

Tommy is ghastly. Call him Thomas and give him a choice. And the one beginning with K looks like a Kardashian name.

HahahaBoomBoom · 15/02/2023 20:00

I love Bram but I live in Scotland and a helpful friend told me it means fart in Gaelic so that was scratched off the list pretty quick 😂

Luredbyapomegranate · 15/02/2023 23:34

Tommy and Bram are both nice as nns, though I’d put Thomas or Abraham on the birth cert. They really don’t work as full names - Tommy is too childish and Bram is too random.

Daniel nn Danny
Nathaniel nn Nate
Toby or Tobias nn Toby
Robert nn Bobby or Robby

Keanu is very very naff. Even as a middle name.

Meandfour · 15/02/2023 23:37

Tommy is lovely.

What about;
Billy
Theo
Arthur
Jack

PacificCoastHighway · 15/02/2023 23:40

Bram can be a NN for Bramwell in case that is another option.

user1492757084 · 16/02/2023 10:23

Thomas - Tommy is perfect
Thomas Keanu

Others
Dominic - Dom
Benedict, Benjamin - Ben
Wilbur - Wil
Remigius - Remi
William - Billy
Robert - Robbo, Bobby
Daniel - Danny

ThisIsAnAlaia · 16/02/2023 10:56

Thomas is gross. Stick with Tommy, he can shorten it to Tom IF he wanted when he is older.

schoolsoutforever · 17/02/2023 16:22

I think Bram would be nice but would maybe go for Bertram or Abraham on the cert.

Tommy is OK but I sort of associate it with a bit of a scallywag type character. I’m not even sure why! But that’s just me - if you like it go for it.

what about:

Bram Tommy
Tommy Bram
Bertram Thomas
Thomas Bertram
