Wait till she arrives and she which one she is. We had a list of 5 and we both independently said she was a xxx when she arrived

lunathestral · 08/02/2023 13:05

Eden
Erin
Imogen
Ayla

Depends on your surname really

cptartapp · 08/02/2023 13:06

Love Erin. Imogen is ok. None of the others.

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 08/02/2023 13:54

Imogen is one of my favourite girls’ names of all time and I wanted it for DD but DH vetoed because I was pregnant around the time
of the Ryan Giggs affair scandal and he could t shake the association. Seems daft now.

I also really like Beatrice. Both great Shakespearean names.

mintdaisy · 08/02/2023 13:59

Imogen and Beatrice and both really beautiful.

I love Rowan but possibly prefer for a boy.

I personally don't like the others.

jamsandwich1 · 08/02/2023 14:01

I love Beatrice, Bea is a gorgeous nickname too

Kanaloa · 08/02/2023 14:04

I would get rid of Orla & Quinn but all the rest are lovely. If you’re in England I’d maybe reconsider Niamh & Brighid because it’s really annoying to have to spell your name out constantly.

welshpolarbear · 08/02/2023 14:08

I love Imogen nn. Immy for short.

Also love Niamh and Orla.

MaoamAddict · 08/02/2023 14:09

Beatrice or Orla - depending on surname

welshpolarbear · 08/02/2023 14:10

Ones I'd def get rid of are:

Ayla - problems with pronpunciation and spelling

Brighid (nn Bree/Bria) - spelling again but also sounds quite a harsh name.

Eden
Morgan
Quinn
Rowan

Agree with pp. she will look like her name when she’s here.
For what it’s worth,my daughter was to be Alexandra throughout my pregnancy. We both loved the name and it was agreed. As soon as she was born I knew she was not an Alex. I couldn’t say why, but she just wasn’t Alex. First visitors to the hospital (not even my visitors) said “lovely baby what’s her name?” And without missing a beat I replied “Amy, she is Amy”
It was her name and it suited her then and still suits my 33 year old Amy now.

You will know and you have some weeks to decide.

PixellatedPixie · 08/02/2023 14:16

The only one I wouldn’t choose is Brighid. It sounds like “breed” like a breed of dogs. It also reminds me of a bridge. Obviously that is just my opinion but most of the other names are gorgeous!

ThatshallotBaby · 08/02/2023 14:18

I really like Beatrice and Quinn.

FayCarew · 08/02/2023 14:20

Aria - nothingy
Ayla - ugly spelling. Isla is much nicer
Beatrice - ok
Brighid (nn Bree/Bria) -- don't understand the need for a 'nn'. Brigid/Bridget better
Eden - too naturey for me. Ede/Edie too similar to Evie
Erin - a bit harsh-sounding
Imogen - nice, don't like Immy etc
Morgan - boy's name
Niamh - ok but gets said as Neev, which is too similar to Eve
Orla - gets said as Awluh
Quinn - Quim
Rowan - nice but lots of boys called Rowan, Roman etc

Theoldwoman · 08/02/2023 14:21

I like Beatrice

hlc123 · 08/02/2023 14:25

I think the nicest are Ayla, Erin, Orla and Rowan

MWNA · 08/02/2023 14:32

I only like Eden and Quinn from your list.

helpmum2003 · 08/02/2023 15:10

I like Beatrice, Imogen and Orla.

tortoiseshellpeppershoes · 08/02/2023 15:15

The nicest ones from your list IMO are:

Beatrice — lovely, classic
Brighid (nn Bree/Bria) — classic but unusual
Imogen — elegant, classic
Rowan — nice (if a little gothy)

The others:

Aria — too game of thrones
Ayla — too much like too game of thrones
Eden — too alternative
Erin — too 90s
Morgan — every non binary teenager renames themselves this
Niamh — too 90s
Orla — OK but sounds a bit too middle aged for me
Quinn — medicine woman; too American

BridieConvert · 08/02/2023 15:41

Erin, Eden or Niamh. Then final decision when she's born ☺️

Thedogscollar · 08/02/2023 15:52

Isla instead of Ayla.
Erin
Orla.
Dislike the rest.

mathanxiety · 08/02/2023 15:58

Keep:

Beatrice
Eden
Rowan
Niamh

And possibly Brighid if you're going to pronounce it right (i.e. 'Breathe' with the TH sound as in the words 'the', 'there' etc).

If you're going to pronounce it Bridget, then I'd spell it that way and put it top of your list

Mumofgirls2017 · 08/02/2023 17:28

I like Eden and Quinn

Rauha · 08/02/2023 17:33

I like:
Beatrice
Imogen
Orla

MuMmaOf3littles · 08/02/2023 17:42

Beatrice and Eden are lovely
