Is Everton a place or just a football team? Knew an Everton once.

lollipopmother · 08/02/2008 10:09

Everton is a place I think.

I used to know a Kent, although she wasn't English so it might have just been the first thing her parents saw when they came to England so they gave her an 'English' sounding name, as quite a lot of the oriental people do when they come over.

I personally dislike the idea of giving your child a place-name or a car name, Chelsea and Mercedes makes me cringe (no offence).

Around here:

Morvah [girl]
Lamorna [girl]
Sennen [boy]

nappyaddict · 08/02/2008 14:43

i like chelsey but not chelsea cos chelsea reminds me of the football team. i like mercedes. it is spanish and it means mercy. It is taken from the title of the Virgin Mary, María de las Mercedes, meaning "Mary of Mercies"

Sorry but Chelsea is awful - imagine it on a 60 year old!
