We have had a lovely baby boy and cannot think of a name for him. We have absolutely no idea, the pregnancy was a surprise so I think I hadn’t really thought/cared about it if I’m honest.

we like names that can be shortened, and are more old fashioned and not so popular.

please give me some inspiration. Now he’s here I feel awful he’s got no name

Ethelred the Unready nm Eth

It's old fashioned (I can't recall anyone recently with the name) has a royal connection and can be a great excuse at school for not completing homework on time.

I love Francis but not so keen on Frank as a NN; maybe Fran!
I also like Robert shortened either to Rob or Robbie but less keen on Bobby.
Love John with NN Johnny. That’s definitely due a comeback though so you might end up with a more popular name than anticipated.
Patrick with NN Paddy is also great.
Mine are William and Alexander known as Will and Alex since birth. I still like them and there’s far less than I expected there to be at the time. Both are the only ones in their year at senior school although I know there’s 3 Wills in DD’s year.

There’s so many names on the list that we know someone with all ready. They must be more popular than we realised in our family.

we’re liking Albert,
DH likes Ezekiel and Quentin
I like frank and Ellis

There’s a couple more we’re debating too
thank you everyone

How about Quentin Albert? Or Ellis Albert?
