Max or Maxwell or..?

My husband wants to name our baby Maxwell, I prefer just Max.

Is Maxwell too much of a surname?

How about Maximillion

I like Maxim, as in de Winter (although it was short for Maximilian I think).

I hear Maxwell now and immediately go to Ghislaine

I love Maxwell (gives the option of Max as a nickname too).

This really dates me but I hear Maxwell and instantly think 'House'.

DS was very nearly Maximilien (the French spelling) but in the end we decided Max was a little too popular for us. Just Max is pretty good.

Max Jas become quite trendy/popular that I fear it may do on start to sound dated.

Once they reach school age everything gets shortened. It won't matter if you choose Maxwell, Maxim or Maximillion he will probably just get Max.
I prefer Max to any of the others suggested.
