Expecting our 2nd baby and really like the name Rocco but stuck for a strong middle name to go with it. Any suggestions?

Thanks for all the suggestions! Genuinely surprised at all the dislike/amusement for the name, didn't think it was that unusual/out there so that's something to consider.

It’s not that it’s especially out there, it’s just that it has some unfortunate connotations in its native Italy so I wouldn’t use it if you spend a lot of time there. It has a bit of innuendo to it. I saw someone on another thread compare it to names like Fanny, Dick, or Roger.

ThatshallotBaby · 28/01/2023 13:05

I think Roger is due a revival tbh

Pinkdafodils · 28/01/2023 13:25

I think a one syllable first name would work well

Rocco James
Rocco Charles

I really like Rocco. People can be so snobby about names that aren’t bland top 10s.

It’s an Italian name, I know the nicest kid with this name. His parents are Italian and his sister is called Ilaria, which I think is beautiful too (hello to that nice family if you see this thread!).

Agree that something with one syllable will work well with Rocco. Or you could skip the middle name altogether? I didn’t give my kids one because I never think of / use my own.

I let people on here put me off Rocco well I now realise unless the name is in the top 10 and pretty boring people are going to judge well I'm not going to let narrow minded boring people influence my decisions any more !!!
