We've got DS already who is called Jamie. We're now expecting DD and really like the name Jessica, which will be shortened to Jessie.
I'm worried that those 2 names are too similar and might sound tacky together.
Any thoughts on this please?

How about Jess instead of Jessie? I think Jamie and Jessie are a bit too similar tbh.

Not tacky just twinny, as pp says Jamie and Jess is fine.

NewtoHolland · 27/01/2023 20:05

Jamie and Jess sounds much better than Jamie and Jessie also Jessie makes me think of the male name. Jess is lovely.

DuchessOfSausage · 27/01/2023 20:20

Jamie and Jess are fine.
I like James and Jessica.

LaLuz7 · 27/01/2023 20:24

They're fine, i wouldn't worry

I'm Jessica and my brother is james. Not too similar at all. I will say that most Jessica's go by Jess and not Jessie.

I think they sound fine together. They are similar but I think most siblings have a common theme to their names. For example. Some parents choose the same initial, or choose all long names, or all short names or a similar style of name.

I don't like Jessie for a girl, I do love Jesse for a boy though.. My niece is a Jessica but gets Jess.

Thanks everyone 👍

Not tacky, both nice names. Jess is lovely, I prefer to Jessie which is a bit Toy Story, Jesse Lingard.
