What are your thoughts on the following girls names

Morag

Millicent

Iona

Beatrix

Agnes

Sybil

Viola

Like Iona, BeTrix is ok

My favourite is Viola

not Morag or Agnes (ugly). All others lovely, especially Beatrix, which, if I had had a girl......

I'm not keen on any of them i'm afraid. At a push i'd say Viola.

I would guess Millicent would automatically be shortened to Milly.

It's a no for Sybil.

Don't really have any feelings for the rest.

Beatrix is cute when shortened to Bea

I like Sybil and Agnes. My best friend when I was little was Agnes, but she went by Aggie.

Morag - like, makes me think of Katie Morag

Millicent - mmm ok

Iona - not keen

Beatrix - like

Agnes - Love

Sybil - ok, but can’t get Cybil Shepherd out of my head

Viola - no, not keen

Is there a Scottish connection?

Iona, Beatrix and Viola are all lovely.

Like Beatrix and Agnes.
Sybil is growing on me, which I didn’t expect…
Dislike the others.

Agnes, Millicent and Sybil aren't nice names to have .

We had a DD last August and have called her Iona :)

Beatrix and Viola are also nice

Millicent - always reminds me of millipedes and of money coins (cents)

Iona - lovely and original

Beatrix - prefer Beatrice

Agnes - dislike the sound

Sybil - frumpy

Iona - love, just be careful if your surname is a noun

Beatrix - ok, I prefer Beatrice

Viola - like

Sybil and Beatrix or Beatrice are fabulous strong names. Such a different feel to all the vowel girly names that are so prevalent. Like Ava. And Iona, viola I'm afraid as well. Millicent is too fussy.

I don’t like any on the list, viola is someone’s last name and none seem like a nice pretty name for a girl xx

I love Beatrix, had to take it off our list as we have a B surname and was a bit much. But absolutely love it.

What about Cecelia, I think it’s a beautiful old name, very under used.

I love Beatrix and Iona - as long as your surname goes with Iona and doesn’t make a sentence.

I don’t like morag. Instantly makes me think of the highland cow on Saturday morning tv when I was a teen
