Help me choose a name for my son

Created a new username for this - I don't usually post in this forum and may post some very outing details!
Currently expecting a baby boy

I have a daughter - her name is Ayla. What name "goes" with this?

Find boy names much harder.
So far we like Alexander or Kaiden. I'm worried Alexander is too traditional and Kaiden ends in "n" which is also first letter of our surname so worried it doesn't sound so great?

And then we're stuck on the middle name too

I like Alexander but really not a fan of Kaiden. Tbh wouldn’t particuLarly put either with Ayla! I’d imagine Ayla with a brother….

I‘m not a fan of Kaiden but like Alexander. I think Kayden or Caden are more popular spellings so you/he might be constantly correcting the spelling.

Also Kai is Kye, not Kay, so people might think his namerhymes with Biden

We were going to nickname Xander for Alexander probably

DH doesn't like some of the ones I do like so it's difficult! Such as Sebastian

I don't like names that are already nicknames really like Freddie or Theo (also there are a lot of Theos and Leo's I know already)

It's also difficult to put a name with Ayla I'm finding.

@Mumofgirls2017 of that list I only kind of like Luca or Flynn the rest are either ones I think of as girls names or pet names tbh (someone close has a pet Milo!) or already know too many or is a nickname in itself really.
Then my problem is I like it OK but I don't love it. I think I still like Alexander more but it doesn't go that well with Ayla.

Wish it wasn't so difficult!

Alexander is lovely. I don't like Kaiden. Also it's quite popular - I work in a school and we have loads with various spellings (Kaiden, kaidon, Kayden, Caden). It's quite confusing!

Alexander is lovely, and has pp said, lots of possible nicknames. Sorry but Kaiden is awful. It’s odd that you’ve picked two such completely different styles of name. Another pp said Caleb. That’s a nice old name that was out of use for so long that it now has a modern feel to it.

Ah OP we have the same taste! I love Kaiden but it’s become a chav name apparently not sure why or how but that’s what they say 🤷‍♀️

It was originally a longer list of names but it got whittled down. I know they are quite different names! I think we were trying to like a less traditional name to go with Ayla but most of them I don't really like.

We originally liked Kaiden as he's a character in mass effect games but I do fear it's become a bit chavvy now

You mustn't come on the baby name boards much. It's a disliked name here and often called "chavy". Personally, I'm indifferent to it, not to my taste. I think it's too close to Aiden for me and a name which could be a fade and so date more easily. I really like Alexander though and it has options for shortened forms. It was my top choice but my husband vetoed it.

Kaiden is very much one of the most hated names these days, you should definitely be aware of that if you haven't encountered it as there will be a LOT of people judging it as "chavvy"

I would definitely go with Alexander (my favourite boys name as it happens)

Ruben. I love that name, if I had had a boy he would have been Ruben. Instead we settled for Ruby as a middle name for one of our dd.

Although Ruben also ends with en. 🤔

I like Alexander and I think it goes well enough with Ayla as they both start with A. Love a pp's suggestion of Dylan with Ayla as well, they look good together. I also thought you might like Cameron?

Really dislike Kaiden sorry.

Middle names are always just after family members in my family. My sons middle name is my dad's name.
