Me and my partner cannot decide on a baby name. I'm only 6 months pregnant but we have found a name each. My oldest son is 7 and my partner said the name I chose just doesn't match. His name is Mason. Basically the name I chose is Parker and the name my partner chose is Hunter. Can I get votes for either one please.

Thanks!!

They are both nice! Just wait until he is born to decide between the two.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 19/01/2023 11:28

Of the two I think I prefer Parker.

Other names I think have a similar vibe are

Hudson
Wyatt
Cooper
Austin

RuthW · 19/01/2023 12:20

The both match Mason.

Neither to my taste.

Pinkdafodils · 19/01/2023 13:58

Parker matches best

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 19/01/2023 14:02

If you'd have suggested Percy or Cyril I'd understand him, but I'd say Parker and Hunter are both in the same name pond as Mason. Therefore I don't know where he's coming from.

Masterofcats · 19/01/2023 14:03

They both match Mason. They are the same style are they not? Surnames as first names.
Not to my taste so can't comment further

ReadtheReviews · 19/01/2023 14:18

Parker makes me think of valet services outside restaurants. As a verb it's not the best.

What about
Mason and Dexter
Mason and Flynn
Mason and Logan
Mason and Ronan
Mason and Blake

ReadtheReviews · 19/01/2023 14:20

Sorry not a verb, but name containing one I mean. To park, to hunt etc.

emmathedilemma · 19/01/2023 14:44

Neither are to my taste either but i think they both work well with Mason. Of the two I prefer Parker as I find Hunter a very aggressive sort of name.

SalviaOfficinalis · 19/01/2023 14:50

I don’t understand Hunter as a name for a child, it’s intrinsically violent.

What about Cooper?

Yesthatismychildsigh · 19/01/2023 14:51

Neither.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 19/01/2023 14:57

Carter
Ryder

Twoinapod · 19/01/2023 18:42

They’re both surnames so both match Mason just fine. None are to my taste but Parker makes me think of thunderbirds so I’d go with Hunter.

GAW19 · 19/01/2023 18:43

I actually really like both Smile
If I was to pick it would be Hunter

Mumofgirls2017 · 19/01/2023 21:49

I prefer Hunter.

mumonherphone · 19/01/2023 21:56

Really dislike hunter, just picture a man with a gun but maybe that's just me. Parker and Mason sound ok together.

AnotherSpare · 19/01/2023 21:57

They both match, I prefer Hunter.
You have a "surname as first name" theme so some other suggestions:
Cameron
Finn
Riley
Spencer

Usergjdksndjsn · 20/01/2023 00:07

Parker and Hunter are basically the exact same name
both go just as well

DramaAlpaca · 20/01/2023 00:26

Both are equally unattractive names but are in the same style as Mason. I'm sure there's another surname you can find to use as a first name if you can't agree. People have given lots of examples above.

Zola1 · 20/01/2023 00:36

They do match Mason...Parker would be awful in some accents (eg I'm from Liverpool).

CallieQ · 20/01/2023 01:16

Pick a proper first name?

Outfor150 · 20/01/2023 08:02

They match -they are all surnames.
Hunter has unpleasant connotations, so Parker it is - but I do think of the Thunderbirds, so it has servant associations to me.

MassiveSalad22 · 20/01/2023 08:04

Parker and Hunter both go with Mason I would say. I prefer Parker as it’s less violent.

I know a Mason with brothers Logan, Jackson and Hudson.

StampOnTheGround · 20/01/2023 08:06

I like Mason, but I really really don't like Hunter or Parker

MassiveSalad22 · 20/01/2023 08:07

Also Sullivan or Finley might work? Was going to say Sonny but that could be a nickname for a Mason so maybe not.
