lauraslops · 18/01/2023 16:03

We currently have a daughter Matilda Hazel and a son Noah Stephen (Stephen is family name).
We are due our third baby and aren't finding out the gender.
At the moment my front runners are
Olive Rosalie
Harriet Eden
Kit John (John is family name)
Harris John
However none of them are feeling 100% so would love some more suggestions. :) thank you

Do you have any family middle names to use? The ones suggested seem quite random to the first names.

Girls-
Annie
Polly
Eliza
Violet
Emilia
Lilia
Rosa

Boys -
Caleb John
William John
Isaac John

Love Olive and Harriet. Not sure about the middle name combos but I'd deffo choose one of these.

Olive Francesca
Harriet Elizabeth

Big fan if Kit and Harris too, so I'd say go with those

Harris John
Kit Samuel (feel like two single syllable names is odd)

lauraslops · 18/01/2023 16:14

Thank you. The middle names for the girls deffo aren't set in stone or ones we are that into. My friend just suggested Olive Mabel which i liked.
I agree with the Kit John being a bit odd with two one syllables but i love kit and John as the middle name is set in stone. Noah's middle name was after his late grandfather and his other grandfather (John) is currently terminally ill. So it only feels right that John be used if we have another boy. x

Thank you. I do like Polly and Violet

I actually love them together; Polly Violet

John will be a lovely middle name is baby is a boy!

pilates · 18/01/2023 16:41

Esme Rosalie

Pinkdafodils · 18/01/2023 17:01

Kit looks like short for Kitten or Kitty 🐈 I don't like it for a boy. Also 'take your kit off'

John is lovely

cravingtoblerone · 18/01/2023 18:53

Olive Rosalie is adorable!

Kit a great name, as is John but don't think they work together. Sad

emmathedilemma · 18/01/2023 19:05

Matilda, Noah and……
Wilfred John
Oscar John
Alexander John
Henry John
Felix John
Rueben John
Arthur John
Hugo John

Alice
Charlotte (Lottie)

Beatrice
Nancy
Eliza
Phoebe
Victoria

Sorry but Kit is awful for a boy’s name and also doesn’t go with another one syllable middle name.

What about
Felix John
Samuel John
Arthur John

Harriet Rose
Harriet Grace
Harriet Alice

Trez1510 · 18/01/2023 19:17

Could you perhaps put John as the first name, with him being known by his second name? I think John is a difficult middle name, and looking at the suggests made by other posters that seems to be confirmed.

For example, Alexander John sounds clumsy to me. Whereas, John Alexander sort of rolls off the tongue!

John James
John Jacob
John Joseph
John Caleb
John Wilfred
John Kit
John Harris

mackerelskymackerelsky · 18/01/2023 19:22

I love Polly Violet!

Apart from Kit I think they all sound better the other way round with John as the middle name!

BiologicalWoman · 18/01/2023 19:41

I LOVE Olive Rosalie! Please go with that one.

Not sure why the obsession people have with Francesca. Unless you're Italian that name will not go well with an English surname!

Not keen on the boys names but not sure what to suggest for those!

FayCarew · 18/01/2023 19:55

John is better than Kit, but John Kit sounds like Junket.

Polly or Violet are nicer than Olive.

I like Christopher but Kit seems too current unless as a diminutive

Prefer Harry to Harris

Pinkdafodils · 18/01/2023 20:02

Kit - take your kit off Blush

ladygindiva · 18/01/2023 20:23

What about Kittow John, kit for short? I went to school with a Kittow, I believe it's a traditional Cornish name.

Whattheladybird · 18/01/2023 20:27

I’d go for Christopher John, known as Kit.

or Harrison. Which isn’t Harris, I know.

sunshinesobeautiful · 18/01/2023 20:32

I'm sorry I think Olive is awful- it's like calling your child tomato or avocado?!
How about Livia instead?
Rosalie on the other hand is beautiful and would go really well with your other children's names! Would you consider using Rosalie as the first name?

elm26 · 18/01/2023 20:36

Love Kit and Olive x

HiImTheProblemItsMe · 18/01/2023 20:37

I like Olive Rosalie or Rosalie as a first name. Rosalie Olivia, Rosalie Eve, Rosalie Mabel. I don't like Kit or Harris. They sound unfinished to me. I like Christopher John as suggested by a pp. Or Caleb John, Edward John, Oliver John.

ThatshallotBaby · 18/01/2023 20:38

Could you add another middle name?
Kit John Francis?
I love the name Kit. You could also call him Christopher or Christian, and nn Kit.
Christopher John flows well.
Not so keen on Olive, but really like Rosalie.
Few suggestions
Dulcie

Louisa

Viola

Daphne

Beatrice
