Aveline or Robyn?

I prefer Aveline
What letter does the surname begin with?

Surname begins with an L

As long as its not something like Aveline Lionel, where the 'Li' bit is repeated, it sounds fine.
Aveline Lomax
Aveline Loach
Aveline Leonard etc, all sound fine.

This will only apply to people who were watching terrible sitcoms in the 1980s but I cannot see or hear the name Aveline without thinking of the ditzy Scouse girl from Bread.

I prefer Robyn.

(I'm not a fan of frilly Aveline type names anyway)

This is what my mind went straight to. I'm sure it's a lovely name but I just hear a Scouse accent saying "Our Aveline says..."

I'm the same generation as @StrychnineInTheSandwiches I think... Aveline reminds me of Bread!
Much prefer Robyn

Aveline still makes me think of ‘Bread’ too, even though it was a bit before my time really. Plus as a name it’s is too frilly and faddy for me. Robyn is much better imo.

Maybe Adeline as an alternative if you’re wedded to that style of name?

Aveline is ok only if your surname is Boswell.
Robyn is better but I'm not keen. I know too many male Robins (humans not garden birds)

Robyn for me. Suits a girl at any age. Aveline, a bit old.
