Anyway, DD is Evelyn Boo. DD wanted to have a hyphen to Evelyn-Boo but I didn't want to as there are too many people in his family with - names

Our reason for chosing Boo was because we had not known the sex and named the bump Boo when pregnant. Day before I'm due for my section, I mention that I felt odd not naming them Boo when they arrive. So that is where the middle name came from!

For the first couple of months she was refered to as Boo or Evie-Boo, mostly its just Evelyn now.

Nobody in RL has sniggered openly or questioned her middle name, a girl I knew who was pg at the same time had thought I was joking when I told her, and it was only about a year later she realised I was telling the truth! The only one negative somebody said was that I better hope she doesn't go to Uni/ sit professional exams etc and have to use her middle name. But, who cares, I like it!

our dd1's nickname is boo ... boo-chicks in it's full entirety... we've always called her boo... she thinks it's her middle name (it's not)... don;t know how we got there but i love the name... and no-one has said anything negative about it...

I used to know a chihuahua called Boo. It quite suited her.

Boo is the term of endearment my parents used for me and my brother when we were children and even now sometimes. My husband calls our children boo also. Very confusing as you can imagine. When we get together, there is a whole houseful of Boos! I loved the little girl in Monster's Inc and Boo would have been on my list of girl's names if I hadn't been a bit chicken.

Well I used to go out with a boy with two hidious names, his middle name was Cornelius!! He made sure that every piece of paperwork had no mention of his second name, then he went travelling and his mother filled out his university forms .. suffice to say he's still working on eradicating it! At least if it's a contentious middle name you can kind of pretend it's not there, but if you give them a name they absolutely hate as their first name I think it's a bit mean, but that doesn't mean that every kid should be called Chloe just to fit in!

Is Boo pronounced booooooo as in the sound people make when they jump out to scare you, or is it Bow/Beau?

As an aside - a very unusual but brilliant name that I have come across for a girl is Holly-Blue, absolutely love it!

Well, looks like I'm the only one so far! My 5 year old daughter's first name is Boo, originally the nickname of my bump - it just seemed the right name to give her when she popped out. Nothing else seemed to fit. Most of the family were a little taken aback but after a few months everyone got used to it, and now most people think its a great name. No teasing at school though I guess it might occur later on, but nowadays there are numerous children with alternative names out there so its not so strange. Hope this helps.
