i have a ds called it!

janeite · 05/02/2008 20:17

DD2's nickname is Boo - was very strange when jamie Oliver named his daughter, as her middle name is Daisy.

scorpio1 · 05/02/2008 20:19

Boo-boos is my ds2 nickname, he answers to it better than his real name! IMO Boo is ok as a second name, say Millie Boo or something.

katz · 05/02/2008 20:19

the little girl in monsters inc is called Boo because thats what she answers when asked what her name is, but i think its more of a monsters go 'boo' rather than her name iswim

thelittleElf · 05/02/2008 20:21

I call my goddaughter Boo

PaulaYatesbiggestFan · 05/02/2008 20:21

scorpio1 · 05/02/2008 20:24

Paula - we call ds2 boobs as well but he is only 3. he is gong to hate me isnt he!

PaulaYatesbiggestFan · 05/02/2008 20:27

Scorpio! It just is a natural progression of the name!

expatinscotland · 05/02/2008 20:29

My mother's friend has a gorgeous Weimeraner dog called Boo.

I've run across several redneck, hick men nicknamed Boo.

singyswife · 05/02/2008 20:30

Hi, My dd's nickname is Boo. She has always been called it and even answers to it. She is 4 by the way

TillyScoutsmum · 05/02/2008 20:32

My friend has a Poppy Boo - sweet as a middle name I think ...

singyswife · 05/02/2008 20:35

yorkshire pudding, my dd's birthday is on 1 april.

janeite · 05/02/2008 20:48

Amazed at how many of us have children with Boo as a nickname - and there I was thinking we were all original until Jamie Oliver nabbed it!

janeite · 05/02/2008 20:49

Poppy Boo is lovely!

nappyaddict · 06/02/2008 00:49

that seems to be the case. i know loads of people who have used it as a middle name, but never a first name.

I used to know a family with a lovely little girl called Boo. She suited it and I never really thought it was odd at all.

sparklyfairypie · 06/02/2008 01:03

well put b at the end, you get boob. it rhymes with poo. you get the whole Boo! (scary style) joke. And can you imagine a 40yr old Boo? My opinion is its maddness and cruel

samja · 06/02/2008 01:07

All sorts of names or words for that matter sound stupid. Bob is a stupid name. At art school there were loads of kids with odd names - due to bohemian parents. Once you get to know someone then its just their name and you don't think about it.

cory · 06/02/2008 19:51

btw in Sweden Bo is definitely a boy's name. Traditional, but oldfashioned, my dad's generation, not mine.

YeahBut · 06/02/2008 19:59

Always associate it with the cute little girl with bunches in Monsters Inc. It's sweet for a wee one but probably not so fab as they get older. I think as a middle name it would be lovely.

lou33 · 06/02/2008 20:01

tegan · 06/02/2008 20:04
