I love Theodore

DuchessOfSausage · 14/01/2023 10:03

I don't like Artie but Arthur is ok
River is too 'nature' for me to like as a name
Cassian/Cassius are both ok, and will shorten to Cass, which is fine
I don't like Theodore at all and Theo is overused
Teddy was ok for Teddy Sheringham but not keen otherwise. Prefer Eddie/Ed to Ted.

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 14/01/2023 10:10

Artie and Teddy are nns for a start. Teddy is a nn for Theodore! So no to them. No to Theodore because you can't throw a rock without hitting a baby Theo/Teddy/Theodore. River is a bit try hard. So Cassius/Cassian. Probably Cassian. Or Arthur with Artie as a nn.

atteatimeeverybodyagrees · 14/01/2023 10:20

Theodore is the only one of those I like

ScruffMuffin · 14/01/2023 11:34

Cassius. Lovely, underused and easy to spell.

He's going to be an adult far longer than he's a child, and I just wouldn't saddle a grown man with Artie or Teddy. They are nns and quite cutesy ones at that.

Millions of Theos around at the moment! River is OK if you must. I know a few of those too! Likewise Ocean (yes, really).

Purpletopaz42 · 14/01/2023 12:29

My favourite on your list in Theodore, I think that's a lovely name and is often given the nickname Teddy too, which is also on your list. I like Artie but I prefer Arthur as a name and Artie for short.

Theoldwoman · 14/01/2023 12:40

Theodore

Purplemagnolias · 14/01/2023 13:57

Artie 🖼️ and Teddy 🧸? Seriously?

I like Cassius and River

DuchessOfSausage · 14/01/2023 14:07

Wouldn't mean kids add an F to Artie?

mumonherphone · 14/01/2023 14:25

Theodore with teddy as a nickname

legalalien · 14/01/2023 14:29

I'd go Edward and then you can start with Teddy, change to Ted, Ed, Eddie, Ned etc as you (and then he) see fit in the future.... I know teenagers called Ted and Ned (not brothers!) and they are both happy with their names.

Mumofgirls2017 · 14/01/2023 14:34

Cassius

also like Theodore/ Teddy and river

Rauha · 14/01/2023 14:38

Artie

Ihaveawonderfulpartner · 14/01/2023 14:39

I love them all but in particular Cassius. I almost called one of my boys it and still love it years later.

Penguinsaregreat · 14/01/2023 14:53

I like Teddy best but only as a nickname for Edward. Next would be Theodore.

Purplemagnolias · 14/01/2023 14:54

I'd go Edward and then you can start with Teddy, change to Ted, Ed, Eddie, Ned

It's Edward (nickname Ed or Eddie) and not Nedward, Tedward or Jedward etc Grin

Percypiglover · 14/01/2023 14:56

I love Artie, I know many have the issue with it being a nickname but to me it's not as much as others that are used now and think it's a cool version of Arthur. Not keen on Theodore but if you like teddy could be the way to go then can use two of your chosen names in one?

StampOnTheGround · 14/01/2023 14:59

Theodore is the only one I'd consider!

LaLuz7 · 14/01/2023 15:03

Theodore is the only proper strong classic manly name on that list.

All the others are infantile and weird on an adult.
