Finley and Lyla?

Is this a mouthful?

I have 3.5 yo Finley - baby girl due next month!

We love the name Lyla but just worried it’s too much of a mouthful saying sibling names due to the Ley part of my sons name

And we like the spelling Lyla opposed to Lilah/Lila

No, they sound fine together. Not a mouthful at all.

I like the Lyla spelling too.

VenusClapTrap · 12/01/2023 08:59

A little bit, but I’ve heard worse. Lydia instead of Lyla perhaps?

Nimbostratus100 · 12/01/2023 09:01

I think its lovely

Nimbostratus100 · 12/01/2023 09:01

anyway, you can say it the other way around Lyla and Finley

ofwarren · 12/01/2023 09:12

Sounds fine to me

ShesThunderstorms · 12/01/2023 09:19

They're lovely together. I wonder if your son gets shortened to Finn anyway sometimes? Or maybe will do at school etc?
I prefer it spelt Lyla too, it's really pretty.

LightHousePanda · 12/01/2023 09:19

I don't think you should choose sibling names on how they flow if you say them together. But anyway they're fine. I'd only think they were an issue if they rhymed or were too similar.

I think Finlay and Lyra go better. Your combination is a bit of a mouthful.

I look after a Lyla! I love it!
Lyla Smiler we call her!
Although she does get called Layla by people that don't know her very well!

DuchessOfSausage · 12/01/2023 12:21

I don't like Lyla

Emmamoo89 · 12/01/2023 12:24

It's lovely
