Lara is my favourite. Not keen on the others they're a bit frilly for me.
What about just Elora.

MojoJojo71 · 31/12/2022 18:38

Lara (or Laura?) the others are too fussy for me.

Hadtochangeforthisone · 31/12/2022 18:39

Lara it's lovely , not common (as in not over used) and not 'how do you spell that' ...for which she will love you forever . I know this !

Rauha · 31/12/2022 18:40

Lara

LeopardPrintHo · 31/12/2022 18:41

Lara for me, also like Leanora and Leander

Blahburst · 31/12/2022 18:42

Would you consider Elaria?

otherwise Elana is very cool.

Notonyournellykelly · 31/12/2022 18:42

I dislike all of them except Lara, which is fine

trevthecat · 31/12/2022 18:43

I have an Elea. Never met another. We pronounce the spanish/ Italian way of eh lay ah

SalviaOfficinalis · 31/12/2022 18:43

Definitely Lara. Lovely name.

The others just seem like a random mishmash of letters (sorry).

Unsolicited suggestions - Leonora and Leonie.

urbanbuddha · 31/12/2022 18:45

Another vote for Lara.

JamSandle · 31/12/2022 18:46

Lara for me.

OttersMayHaveShiftedInTransit · 31/12/2022 18:46

Had my DS been a DD he would have been Lara. It's such a beautiful name, short, sweet and easy to spell and pronounce.

DramaAlpaca · 31/12/2022 18:48

Lara is fine. The rest are frilly/fussy.

Honeyroar · 31/12/2022 18:50

I like Elaria more. Alana is nice. Lara is ok.

Neolara · 31/12/2022 18:51

Lara.

I have a Lara who is 18. She told me the other day she has never met another Lara.

CheshireCats · 31/12/2022 18:51

I only like Lara from your list

tillyrainbow · 31/12/2022 18:51

Lara

HuntingoftheSnark · 31/12/2022 18:57

Lara is pretty and the only name that doesn't look made up (apologies as they are probably all perfectly valid names).

postcardpuffin · 31/12/2022 18:57

Lara is lovely.

DD (10) has a friend called Eliana (she is half Italian); pron. Elle-ee-ah-nah with the stress on the third syllable. But no-one seems to find it that difficult to pronounce! I think it’s lovely.

I met a little girl recently called Amadea, which really grew on me!

clearlyclelia · 31/12/2022 19:01

Out of these I only like Lara. How about Leora?

Purplecatshopaholic · 31/12/2022 19:03

Lara is a lovely name. The rest sound like you made them up! They are terrible - far too tricky to spell and difficult to pronounce.

Ijuststoodonlego · 31/12/2022 19:05

Lara - Like it (reason sounds nice)
Eliara - Mouthful
Elara - Mouthful
Elea - Substitute E for F spelling wise (bullying)
Eliora - there used to be an orange squash in the 80s called kia-ora so it reminds me of that.
Elana - too much like Alanna

Spectre8 · 31/12/2022 19:12

Laura the rest sounds like a bad version of apple products where the letter e is stuck infront of everything

misslucy92 · 31/12/2022 19:16

Thanks so far!

Would you say the same thing if I had just asked about Eliara, for example?

Is it and on its own or does it just feel overwhelming when put next to similar names?

For example if I put it in here: Emma, Ruby, Sophie, Grace, Eliara, Charlotte, Annabelle, Ava would it feel less made up?

just wondering

I meant to say „is it bad on its own or only feel that way when combined with similar names“?
