I have known two Cocker spaniels called Jarvis.

Jarvis reminds me of the character - Javo - in the award winning novel, Monkey Grip by Helen Garner.
He is an herion addict in the 1970s.

I wouldn't want to be named Jarvis and I think most people wouldn't, to be honest. It's one of those names that just makes me think: of all of the names you could pick, why choose that one? Because it doesn't have much going for it, unless it's a family name or something.
