Hi everyone,

I just wanted to come on here and get some help with finding a baby name for our little girl due in February.

So, I guess a little bit about us: we already have two daughters Astrid Kate and Eliza Matilde - both named after aspects of our heritage: danish, English, Italian and Portuguese. However, we are a little stuck with DD3!

we were thinking Philippa for a middle name after my mum or Margot after my husband and fathers middle name: Mark.

We love the name June for a first name and also Pippa (however doesn’t really work for the Italian side of the family). Any suggestions would be great appreciated 🙏🏻

Margot works well. Also Vanessa or Rosalind.

I have an Astrid Elizabeth and an Esmerelda Kate as we have Swedish, Portuguese and English heritage!

Not sure if all of these work 100%, but what about:
Birgitta
Clara
Diana
Helena
Iris
Jessica
Julia
Marina
Mia
Vera
Luna
Nora
Rosa
Victoria

The first names that came to me were:

Astrid, Eliza and Pia

Astrid, Eliza and Paloma

Astrid, Eliza and Pilar

Maybe they have that Pippa/Philippa feel to them and work in all the languages, pretty much?

Congratulations!

Thank you so much! So many great suggestions :) I really like Iris and Lydia - feel like they fit really well!

Any thoughts on June Margot/Philippa?

@Deckthehallswithbenandhollly i can’t believe we have such similar heritages!

Ines
Lucia
Sofia

These come to mind for me, trying to think of names that could work for all of your national backgrounds and fit with your other two.
Each of those would sound nice with Philippa or Margot as a second name.
I do like June but I just don't think I could get my head around using it for a February baby (silly reason though).

goodknight · 23/12/2022 12:29

June and Lydia make me think of Handmaid’s Tale?

I have the same reaction

purplejungle · 23/12/2022 12:51

I love Juniper as an alternative to June

Luredbyapomegranate · 24/12/2022 10:20

Astrid and Eliza are great names as is Philippa.

Could she be Philippa nn Pippa as a first name (and the Sp rellies could call her by her full name or Pip/Pippin?!)

Philippa Margot is lovely

June is nice, but too odd for a winter baby - Juno works though.

Sophie
Robin
Frances
Zoe
Lois
Ines
Clio
Claudia
Verity
Lydia
Jessica nn Jessie
Juliet
Julia
Jane
Jean

might be others

Susan was the firstname I thought of and I see another poster suggested Susanna.

midsomermurderess · 24/12/2022 21:15

Mathilde or Maja. I really like Lærke, but that might well confound non-Danish speakers.

midsomermurderess · 24/12/2022 21:16

Oops, not Mathilde!
