  1. Francis (for me this is still the top contender but DP has suggested a few others)
  2. Lennon
  3. Spencer
  4. Vincent

Which is your favourite?

Francis and Vincent.

Don't like the other two at all.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 15/12/2022 13:23

I like them all except Spencer. On a personal level I'd never use Vincent as I can't stand Vinnie or Vince so it'd have to be Vincent at all times (until he could decide for himself, of course). Lennon is gorgeous.

Theoldwoman · 15/12/2022 13:24

Francis is my favourite boys name at the moment.

ofwarren · 15/12/2022 13:27

Really hard to choose because I dislike them all equally.
Spencer is possibly the one I dislike the least.

RunDownRita · 15/12/2022 13:30

Calling you son Lennon is a massive hostage to fortune, given how perceptions of John Lennon are changing.

SkinnyFatte · 15/12/2022 13:33

Vincent and Spencer.

amylou8 · 15/12/2022 13:34

Lennon..sorry read lemon.
Spencer.. princess Di, not keen
Vincent...I was going to be Vincent if I was a boy. Ok name but really dislike Vinnie.
Francis..best of the lot, nice name.

Jackonary · 15/12/2022 13:46

Francis

BackOnTheBandWagon · 15/12/2022 14:03

Francis. Don't like any of the others.

HappyHogan · 15/12/2022 14:04

Prefer Leonard to Lennon
Vincent nn Vinny is my second favourite

Champsandbubbles · 15/12/2022 14:09

Francis is a no for me, but if you think if you were a man (not a child) and you were called Francis or Fran and you'd like it to be called it as a man then that's the right choice for you.

Kanaloa · 15/12/2022 14:11

Vincent and Spencer are nice. I don’t love Francis although I like Frank and Frankie. I really don’t like Lennon - just screams ‘I’m a massive Beatles fan and I want everyone to know it.’

BabyYoZenZen · 15/12/2022 14:11

My favourite out of these would be Francis as well. I like Vincent too but only with NN Vince not 'Vinnie'.
Lennon and Spencer a bit too wannabe-cool for my taste. Lennon = Beatles, Spencer reminds me of Diana.
Lenny is sweet, though - how about Leonard rather than Lennon? Similar sound but more classic and classy.

NotToBeOrToBe · 15/12/2022 14:12

Anything but Francis. Absolutely hate the name and have no idea why it's so popular on here. To my ear it's like calling a boy Shirley.

How about Leon if you like Lennon.

Bournetilly · 15/12/2022 14:16

I don’t like any of them but if I had to choose Lennon would be the best.

Mistonthemountains · 15/12/2022 14:18

Francis is lovely. The others I don't like.

ChristmasJingleBalls · 15/12/2022 14:35

Hmm, I don’t really like any of them. Francis I’ve always always thought it wet and dreary. Whiny.

Lennon I don’t like as it’s a surname. Spencer never liked, Vincent I know a few little Vincent’s known as Vinnie. Probably Vincent.

Mumofgirls2017 · 15/12/2022 16:00

Spencer or Vincent

Olive19741205 · 15/12/2022 16:54

Francis or Vincent

KirstenBlest · 15/12/2022 19:30

Francis - ok
Lennon - ok as a surname, but too associated with someone famous
Spencer - ok as a surname but I wouldn't pick it as a first name
Vincent - as a surname it's ok but Vince and Vinnie are both awful

FUEWC · 15/12/2022 19:31

Francis or Vincent. Francis my preference

scottishnames · 15/12/2022 19:33

Francis has been a man's name for centuries. Ever heard of St Francis?? Eco-warrior and champion of poor and outcast people. Pretty impressive namesake.
It's one of those names - like Dominic, Benedict, John etc - that has male and female versions, also established for centuries.

FWIW Shirley was originally a male name. It mans 'bright meadow'. It only became used for girls after Charlotte Bronte gave the name to her unconventional female heroine in a novel published in 1849.

scottishnames · 15/12/2022 19:35

Leonard or (Scandi) Lennart are rather cool, I think. I also rather like Lionel. (Next generation won't know about any earlier entertainers with the name).

Rauha · 15/12/2022 19:36

Vincent

Blowyourowntrumpet · 15/12/2022 19:38

I dislike all of them. Lennon is the worst
