Help with boys names

Posted the other day about Freddie, we love it but don’t like any of the longer versions of the name which is now putting us off.

Love a lot of the suggestions but husband isn’t onboard. He’s now suggested James or Jack both of which I find a bit boring.

I like Rex and Arthur was another on the list originally so might revisit, thanks for those suggestions. Also like Alexander (Xander).
I do like Edward, a really close friend has an Edward who is known as Teddy but could work if we used Eddie or just Edward . Is nn Freddie a bit of a stretch from Edward?
