Now. I’m not one to ever judge baby names, infact I don’t think I’ve very judged a baby name before now, but this one has tested me today.

I can't get passed the fact that the parents literally look identical

This comment made me click on the article. And burst out laughing on the bus.

Purplemagnolias · 09/12/2022 16:05

They might be unusually spelled names but I honestly don't think it's nice to be so rude. She didn't come on mumsnet asking for our opinions?!

Purplemagnolias · 09/12/2022 16:07

And that that's an article in the Sun?!

Do the journalists not have more interesting and useful stories to cover? Confused

Dalekjastninerels · 09/12/2022 16:09

Wednesday is ok if it is spelled properly.

Not Wednesdaigh, Wednesdae or whatever else.

gaf · 09/12/2022 16:30

Definitely the sort of names that would get roll eyed at school/hospital.

Me too. And then I thought he looked like her lesbian life sister wife.

WOW Shock !!! The mum and dad look sooo alike. HE is the female version of HER and vice versa.

Forfrigz · 09/12/2022 16:56

'Her name is Wednesdaigh'
'The traditional spelling?'
'No, the illiterate one'

Yeah, and don't forget that there is a war in Ukraine and also Global Warming.

I'm sorry but anyone using such ridiculous spellings is doing so for the attention the names will attract. Therefore commenting is perfectly acceptable as that's literally the only reason the parents have chosen such names, to elicit comments.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 09/12/2022 17:41

And it isn't Katie and David who are going to be ridiculed and laughed at behind their backs because of their names their whole lives.

Why don't people who like terrible attention-seeking names just change their own names? Honestly, most parents do everything they can to ease their children's passage through life and make the things that they have power over as nice as possible for them. This is the exact opposite of that.

We can all (maybe those of us over a certain vintage) laugh along with Johnny Cash's 'A Boy Named Sue' - because it's just so absurd - but how is Ma'Kynnleigh or Jaxx'Syn really going to help somebody through life? At least Sue is an actual name, albeit not one usually given to boys.

MichaelFabricantWig · 09/12/2022 17:43

jeighsus chreighst

ErrolTheDragon · 09/12/2022 17:50

It's not 'nice' to give your children ridiculous names and then publicise this, with photos, in The Sun.

I really hope I'm right that it's someone trolling not real.

Who knows? Maybe his middle name IS Sue?!

Errol, Flapjack, yes, he's a Star Trek fan and loved the name B'Elanna, (didn't realise I'd added an extra apostrophe). Gave her the more normal name Lana.

@Bananalanacake - I did look at your username and think I wonder if they compromised with Lana. Very sensible!

A good Saxon name 😁

And…?

Is that definitely the Dad? As I said.

I believe @SuperCamp was implying that the fresh-faced chap in the photo could (let's hope not) be both father and brother. They are astonishingly alike. Maybe cousins?

walnutmarzipan · 10/12/2022 09:53

It just reminds me of this scene in Alan Partridge

Have to hope their parenting is better than their naming skills

Ma'Kynnleigh

Is that supposed to be McKinley?

Anyone else read the Ma as in "mother"?

Ah yes interesting take…

I actually read as in ‘mine’.
same way Ali G says Ma’Julie.

They are american

I haven’t read the full article but I’m thinking the South or Appalachia?🤔

BellePeppa · 09/12/2022 09:58

Kind of says it all really. Maybe they should have checked their dna first 😁

Please. Dee'n'Aigh

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 10/12/2022 10:56

Why would you want a name that sounds like somebody tripped and fell down a deep well halfway through saying it?
