I'm pregnant with my first baby and we've recently found out it's going to be a girl. Started thinking of names and so far my top three are Evelyn, Clara and Alison although feeling a bit put off by Evelyn's popularity.

Was wondering if anyone could suggest some other names that have a similar feeling to the ones above.

Evelyn and Clara both have more than one pronunciation. I don't really like them at all.
Alison seems very dated to me, but it's nice. I much prefer Alice

Thanks for all the suggestions guys!

A few people have said Clara is quite popular but looking at the government data there were only 574 Clara's born in 2021 compared to 1,729 Evelyn's. I've also never come across any baby / toddler Clara's and I work in a nursery so it certainly can't be popular where I am.

To be fair though I've only ever come across a couple of Evelyn's so the numbers don't always translate to reality I guess.

Clara is where Evelyn was ten years ago. Name trends start by a name becoming popular within certain regional or demographic groups, which is why Clara feels popular to some of us despite this not being borne out in the national data. It is very likely that Clara will follow the trend of names like Evelyn and catch on much more widely in the next few years even if you don’t know any now. It’s not necessarily a reason not to use the name but it’s useful information if you want to avoid a name that is about to become very popular.
