Cecily - not contemporary, but somehow unusual

also loving Melusine, Idony, Romilly, Amoret....
not big on contemporary "Kaylie" types of names, but used to love Daenerys and Evenei - which I invented myself for novel.

Reuben i love it. Im infertile with failed IVF the fact I'll only be able to name a dog or cat Reuben and never a child kind of breaks my heart a bit

Oh goodness, this is extremely sad to read. I’m so sorry. With the kindest of hearts, spending time on a baby name board and reading about what lots of pregnant ladies are hoping to name their babies (for me) would be only adding to my grief and suffering. Is there a Mumsnet board where you could find comfort and healing with people in similar circumstances?

I love all those American type girl names - Hadley, Addison, Avery, Brianna, Brielle etc.

Not so keen on American boy names - seem to be Gunner/Hunter type, Trevor/Desmond (I know 2 little Desmonds) type or Jayden/Kaiser type.

My granddaughter is called Vienna. I think my daughter went with it as an 'unsued name'. But I did that with hers 24yrs ago, and then it became hugely popular two years later
