Please help!! I am so stuck and hate everything- Honour is such a strong but pretty name and to me nothing compares to it.
We had Hugo and Roman on our Boys list but just found out shes going to be a girl and have nothing!!
I really like Amorae but had some bad responses.

Honor is my actual name. It's from the Latin, rather than English. Please don't go for a 'unique' spelling. I get great feedback on my name - but it's the name, not some made up version of it.

Honour is not a made up word haha
until coming on this website no one has ever mentioned it, Nor have I ever had a problem.
I am asking for names for Honour’s sister not how to spell her name- thanks.

Because it's been Americanised. It's a virtue name, makes sense to use the UK spelling in the UK.

@Algor1thm I’ve been laughing my head off at how this has offended complete strangers. I’m glad there is one sane person here haha x

"Train" isn't a made up word either but you'll find very few babies with that "name" too.

Your DD1 is Honour Isabelle so let DD2 be Isabelle Honour.
We had a family in our school with DS1 being Robert Edward (Robbie)
and DS2 being Edward Robert (Eddie);

I've never heard of that before and not sure I like the concept at all!

How has the name been Americanised, when it originates from Latin??!

By your logic, the word “honour” has been Anglicised from the Latin/French, and it’s actually the American version that’s closer to the original.

Because it's the English word honour, and the Americans changed the spelling to honor. The word/name did not come directly from the Latin, but via English, and therefore via French.
